Some Colour Inspiration at Pollycraft

Yoohoo!! Just me, slightly late. What's new?! :) Quickly gonna try and get this typed up before I rush off to get ready for a girly day in Durham. I'm sure I'll be back with some lovely pictures to share with my new camera! :) Yeehhaaa.

So today it's time for a new challenge over at Pollycraft. The lovely Sheena has some colour inspiration for us!! It's a beautiful picture. So many gorgeous colours, lots of layers, a gorgeous shape, some cute little novelty items - birds, tea cups, tea pots, roses, spoons. You get the idea. This picture can inspire you in loads of ways!

You can use this photo in any which way you like to inspire your project!! I've tried to look past all of the pinks and whites.. and more into the greens and golds! I've used an older stamp - Earth Fairy. Love her and her simplicity. :)

I know what you're thinking.. woah.. that image is bright. You'd be right.. but I just had to try out some of the new Limited Edition 2012 ProMarker colours. Tropical Orchid and Summer Sun. So puurddy!!

I've kept the layout pretty simple, and used some new papers from First Edition. I've added some gold crinkle ribbon from The Ribbon Girl to pick up on the gold from the picture. I've used some yummy WOC flowers for the first time in ages. The sentiment from Amy R Stamps has been stamped in Soft Suede ink onto the image panel. Perfect fit! :)

So.. that's my quick post! LOL. I had massive plans of adding colour combos and all sorts.. but I've waffled enough. So head over to the Pollycraft Challenge Blog and see what the other ladies have created for ya. Lots of inspiration, let me tell ya! ;)

We're Matching at Pollycraft

I'll apologise now for the weird photos. I guess this is what happens when you take them at like half one in the morning, eh? :) I really need to get my ass into gear with regards to use of time! HAHA!!

It's Monday, Monday. Time for a new challenge over at Pollycraft. This week the theme has been set by our lovely Lynsey. She wants to see us create..

A CARD AND MATCHING TAG

Boy oh boy, I SO wish I'd gone about this differently. LOL. I printed out two Luna Bitterfrost - Science Rocks and tried to colour them up identically. This was almost the death of me. Seriously. Miss perfectionist here nearly burst her nut tryna work this one out. But it's done. So here's what I have to share with ya..

I kept both the tag and the card pretty simple, with just a few slices of paper from My Minds Eye, some ribbon from The Ribbon Girl and some doodles. Oh, I also dug out some Stampendous? stamps and added some detailing to the kraft cardstock with some yummy lime green chalk ink. :)

So. How identical do they look to you?! HA! I added a simple sentiment from Hero Arts to the right hand side of the image panel. I've added some doodles to both pieces using a Taken with Teal SU! marker. Something different from the usual brown.

I've used some scraps from a My Minds Eye pad and added some punched strips and curled up the edges - I sooo love how  that looks!! I then found a little strip of twill stripe ribbon lying all unloved in my drawer and it just matched this card perfectly!! :) Scraps!! LOVE. :) Stripes, strips and scraps! LMAO!!

Head over to the Pollycraft Challenge Blog NOW!! Please join in and show us your combo sets!

Supplies. Cardstock - Bazzil; Paper - My Minds Eye; Image - Pollycraft; Sentiment - Hero Arts; Stamps - Stampendous; Ink - Colourbox Chalk Citrine; Embellishments - turquoise twill ribbon; SU! Notebook Spiral border punch; SU! taken with teal fineliner

Arabellas Sketch over at Pollycraft

Good morning guys!! Monday again. I could tear my hair out. Stock take at work later this evening. Wish me luck. I will probably leave the place with no hair. No jokes. :( Onto happier things while the time is right though, right?

Monday can only mean one thing. One happy thing. A BRAND NEW CHALLENGE over at Pollycraft Monday. Can I get a 'Yayyyy!!' :)

The gorgeous and hugely talented Arabella has created a SKETCH for us all to use. Be sure to check out her colouring of Barclay for this challenge. Mind blowing. That is all.

Here's the sketch.

The lucky winner of this challenge will receive 10 Pollycraft digis of their choice from the store!  What an awesome prize!

So here is my take - using the ever so adorable Barclay. This is Barclay's Star. I've coloured him up using ProMarkers and FlexMarkers and cut him out using a nestie. :)

So here's another 'boy card' for my stash - Barclay makes it sooo easy to create those oh so difficult boy/male cards. :) I love him. I've layered up a few slices of patterned paper from My Minds Eye on the bottom layer of the card to add a little more interest. I wrapped some navy bakers twine around and flicked up the little notepad binding stuff, thingy. YKWIM! :) The sentiment and the little stars in the corners are from SU! and have been stamped in some yummy lime green chalk ink.

ProMarkers and FlexMarkers
Honeycomb, Ginger, Spice, Saddle Brown
Muted Pink, Pale Pink
Grass, Emerald, Lush Green
Soft Aqua, Honeydew, Aquamarine
Buttercup, Pastel Yellow, Mustard
Ice Grey 1, 2, 3
Lime Zest, Lime Green, Bright Green
Blender, Soft Aqua, Pastel Blue, Cool Aqua
Blender, Warm Grey 1, 2

I've been asked by a lot of beginners and new PM users to list the colours I've used on my projects, and I think you people are smart enough to know which line is which. Like.. Honeycomb, Ginger, Spice, Saddle Brown is obviously his ginger fluff, right? Grass, Emerald, Lush Green are his eyes. You'll work it out - I'm sure! ;)

I'd like to enter this card into these challenges:
Here Come The Boys - Cards for Tiddly Peeps
One Stitch at a Time - Anything Goes
Paper Sundaes - Let's Get Cute
Digi Designs - Animals Friends
Send a Smile 4 Kids - For The Boys
Fussy and Fancy - Punches and Dies

This is the first time I've searched for some challenges to enter for aaaages, so wish me luck! :) Heehee. I've kinda missed reading the comments and stuff, gotta get my blog back out there.

Enjoy your Monday - I'm off to colour and relieve some stress before I head out to work later. Oh, and I gotta pick some milk up. I had to have black coffee this morning. I was almost SICK!! :(
