It's FRIGHT NIGHT!

..well. Almost. :)
One more day 'til Halloween!!
How do you celebrate? It isn't as huge in the UK as I'd like it to be.. so I don't find myself making much Halloween stuffs.. today is an exception though.

Over at Passion for ProMarkers we got a SPOOKY kinda challenge for you all to join in with. I've gone more.. CUTE than SPOOKY! LOL! Total opposite ends of the spectrum, but I do hope you like it!!

FRIGHT NIGHT

This is "just for you" - Halloween-y guys. I kept the layout of this card pretty simple. I used a few papers from an older Cosmo Cricket pack called Boyfriend if I remember rightly. Some texture in the form of crinkle organza and a slice of fluffy orange stuff? LOL! :)

I used a gorgeously cute? LOL! new image from Tiddly Inks, this is Monstrous Party. I've coloured these guys up using bright, bold colours. I tried to add some.. texture to their furs.. :) I also gave the 'purple glow' another go. That rhymed. LOL! I like how it turned out this time - a lot more vibrant. Yayyy!

Enough from me and my bright, furry friends - head over to the Passion for ProMarkers blog NOW and see the other ladies amazing creations!

Make it Like.. LOU!!

Morning Tiddly Inkers! :) It's Tuesday once again, and that means it's time for a new challenge over at Tiddly Inks. Like you didn't already know.

This week we have another Make it Like.. LOVE these challenges. It's interesting to see how you guys interpret out DTs projects. So this week we want you to

MAKE IT LIKE LOU

Our lovely Lou whipped up this creation a while back..

and we want you to take some inspiration from it for your card, whether it be in the form of the layout, the colour combo, the image or the detailing!! We can't WAIT to see what you come up with.

I used the same image as Lou for my card, this is Wryn - Joy Ride, and I've coloured her using one of my all time fave colour combos - turquoise, lime green and orange. YUM!

I've added some seam binding, Prima flowers a big button and some brads from Doodlebug. Oh, and that mini orange ric rac that's been popping up on a lot of my projects lately! :) The sentiment from Amy R has been stamped in some Island Indigo ink from SU! Love. :)

Please head over to the challenge blog and see what my other teamies have come up with using Lou's cute project for inspiration. Kisses. xo

James, you so Swaggg!!

Hey guys- it's DAY THREE of releases over at The Greeting Farm. Are you loving what you've seen so far?! I know I am!

Today we've a new guy on the block. I'd like to introduce you to..

JAMES

Is he hot? Uh huh. I'm loving his big hair and that jacket. Sooo swag!

Here's my offering.

I kept this card pretty simple using a few papers from Echo Park - This and That collection, adding some pops of yellow to bring some colour and stamping a sentiment from My Guy Ian set, also from The Greeting Farm. I've been practicing my.. greys? So i decided to colour his jacket white.. well.. at least try. I think it could do with a little more definition. We live and we learn, right? :)

And this creation is a little more out of the box.. It's CHRISTMAS themed. Heh. I had to!! All wrapped up in the leather biker jacket. I had to. Oh, and that bright red mop of hair. Uh huh. I went ALL OUT. I've used some yummy papers from Basic Grey and matted them onto Island Indigo cardstock from SU! Another sentiment from My Guy Ian finishes this card up.

Oh, and before I forget - woah. I tried out a different skin combo of.. lemme think. Nutmeg, Dusky Pink, Oatmeal, Blush and Linen. Kinda paler, I like it. Should done a side by side comparison. Next time. :)

Talking about looking swag ;) - I've got a few events to attend next month, so I'm off for a spot of internet shopping! ;) I mean.. "window" internet shopping of course! ;)

Take it easy, and be sure to check by the The Greeting Farm Blog each day to see the new characters being released each day! xo

The girl is STYLIN'!!

Oh where to begin? Perhaps with an apology? Or perhaps I could just stop putting it off and get on with the rest of the post? Uh huh. I'll do that.

So aside from the fact I'm way late with my projects for the latest release over at The Greeting Farm, you guys will have already laid eyes on the gorgeous new Anya Styles, so..

Here are my offerings.

This girl is an absolute dream to colour, and that hair! BOY! Wanna know who I think nails it? Our very own Rachel - check out her Anya with the glossy black hair.. AH-mazing. I decided to give my first Anya Styles bright blonde hair to stand out against her biker chic clothes. She's soo stylin'!

My second Anya got coloured up to represent a little more of the girlie girl in her style. Pinks and yellows are my new pinks and greens. I love the combo - and papers from My Minds Eye make it all the more gorgeous. I'd like to say this card is a little back to front, in the sense that the white space on the image panel takes up a lot of the card - and I kinda like that. I've stamped the largest sentiment from the set over the bottom of the image in Brilliance ink (so crisp) and added a few banners, hearts and buttons to finish it off. It has been matted onto some mustard coloured Core-dinations cardstock and voila.

So there ya have it!! My late edition of Anya Styles. Don't forget there is a new stamp released each day up til November 1st - which is release day, and their will be a coinciding BLOG HOP you won't wanna miss out on.

Be sure to head over to The Greeting Farm BLOG each day to see what goodies we've got for ya!! I'll be back on Monday with a new boy on the block! ;)

LOVES. xo

Sing me a Carol

Oh, you don't wanna sing? What's that? You sound like a cat being strangled? Gosh, okay.. keep those noises to yourself. Instead.. Wryn will sing us a lovely carol.

Ready?

Heh! :) It's time for another dose of Fabulous Friday from our AH-mazing Tiddly Inks team! Head over to the challenge blog to see what the other ladies have created to inspire ya this week!!

This is Wryn Goes Caroling. She's been coloured up using ProMarkers and FlexMarkers to match my papers from an old collection from Basic Grey - Wassail. I know I'll be asked what colours I used for her hair - so Oatmeal, Honeycomb, Ginger and Spice. :) One step ahead of ya!

I haven't followed any particular layout for this card, I've just tried to use up the scraps of papers I've already cut into. I've inked the edges using Frayed Burlap DI - the first time I've done this in forEVAH. I've outlined some areas with an Old Olive marker. The little sentiment ticket is a mixture of Whimsy stamps and Amy R. Some yummy olive grosgrain from The Ribbon Girl, and old BG button aaand some random beige coloured brads finish this card off.

Oh, and.. I've been tryna use up my.. flatter? less dimensional? dimensional foam adhesive. It's like 1mm, maybe 2mm thick.. and well.. I have like two who A4 sheets to get rid of. Hell, you can't even tell that the image panel is popped up on this card, can ya? Meh. I gotta start using stuff up before buying new, so I'ma have to stick it out. Get it? Stick! LOL! Seriously though - why don't we think ahead before we purchase this stuff? :/

Don't forget to head over to the challenge blog!

Thank you for stopping by! xo

Bee Happy

This post didn't go live when it should have. Sorry.

Oh hell yeah. I'm actually ahead of schedule. So it's Tuesday and it's time for another challenge over at Passion for ProMarkers. This week the theme has been set by our lovely Jane. She wants to see you all HAPPY!!

BEE HAPPY

Heh. So cute. This can be interpreted any way you wish. I know yellow and grey is a massive trend at the moment, so why not try yellow and black? You could have a scene with little bees in the background, or you could have the bee.. be.. centre stage. Which is what I've chosen to do.

The lucky winner will receive a £10 voucher to spend over at Joanna Sheen.

So here is the last SMASH* page I made.. like two months ago. Ridiculous, I know. My poor SMASH* books are going so unloved right now, but for me it's all about CHRISTMAS right now! How about you?

So the cutie featured on this page, as I'm sure you all already know is the gorgeous Annabelle from Tiddly Inks. Happy Bee Day. She's been coloured up.. to look like a bumble bee ;) with my ProMarkers and FlexMarkers. I've added her to a SMASH* page about my fear of bees and wasps. I got stung all. of. the. time when I was younger, and I will never forget the feeling. That buzzzz sound puts the fear of death in me and I'd run a mile! LOL. It's like an involuntary reaction - I can't just stand still and let it pass.. I totally freak out.

BUT. Annabelle in her adorable bumble suit is different. I luffs her.

Here is an 'artistic' shot - HAH! I love how her red hair turned out. I've added a little pocket by upcycling a soap packet. I know, I know. :/

Please head over to the Passion for ProMarkers blog and JOIN US. There is plenty of inspiration over there to inspire you to getting buzzing!! xo

It's HALLOWEEN at Tiddly Inks

Goodness me. Neither of my posts actually went live yesterday. So here is my new challenge card for Tiddly Inks a day late! *sweet, sorry face*

Morning Tiddly Inkers! :) Tuesday has come around again.. and another Tuesday can only mean one thing.. a new challenge over at Tiddly Inks!!

Over two weeks of October have disappeared into thin air.. and in another two short weeks it'll be HALLOWEEN. So.. we want to see you whip up your bestest HALLOWEEN CREATIONS with the gorgeous images available over at Tiddly Inks.

Christy has been a busy bee and has drawn up a bunch of new Halloween images for us to use - head over to the shop to pick up yours now!!

I decided to use Witchy Wryn, because I loves her! :) I love her little friends even more - the frog and kitty! I've coloured her up using ProMarkers and FlexMarkers - I didn't want to make her cloak super black, so I've used Cool Grey 2-5. I've made her a little blonde, with green highlights, heh. You can't really tell on the picture, but it looks so cool IRL. Another thing the picture hasn't really picked up on is the purple glow I've added around her - gotta work on that to get it to stand out more.

I've kept the layout of the card pretty simple. I've embossed the bottom of the cardbase with a Sizzix EF, added a few stripes of My Minds Eye patterned paper, a length of polka dot ribbon from The Ribbon Girl, a cute bow and a threaded button. Voila! The sentiment has been created using Amy R stamps and punched out using an SU! punch.

Thank you for stopping by! :)

I'd like to enter this card into these challenges:
- Sassy Cheryl's Digi - Orange and Black
- Forever Friends - Halloween/ Autumn
- Hooked on Craft - Halloween

Be sure to stop by the Tiddly Inks Challenge BLOG and share your HALLOWEEN creation with us! xo

Some new threads for Kaylee..

.. so she can dress up for Halloween! ;)

So last.. but by no means least it's..

WITCHY WEARS

This is a 3x4 to compliment Kaylee's Closet Wardrobe set. Who doesn't love this little girl?! Perfect for little doses of colouring, paper piecing or just practicing when you don't fancy a whole character. This Witchy Wears set comes with a hat, a dress, a broom and the cutest little sentiment to make your project perfect down to the last detail.

I've used some papers from My Minds Eye, I love the pop of blue this collection has, so I've brought that in with my colouring too. How cute is her little dress? I think next time I use this little Kaylee, I won't fussy cut her out. The white trim around her makes her pieced clothes look a little funny.. me thinks. :)

I've added some black stitched grosgrain to the design (I forgot how easy this stuff ties into cute bows) and added a white button threaded with some mini orange ricrac ribbon - all from The Ribbon Girl. I used the broomstick as an accent piece, as opposed to placing it with Kaylee, to draw some attention to the sentiment which I've stamped on a flagged piece of cardstock in Pumpkin Pie ink from SU!

That's all we've got for ya for this release! Be sure to stop by the SOME ODD GIRL BLOG and looksie at the projects the ODDies have created with this neat little addition.

All of the stamps from this weeks sneaks will be up for sale over at the SOME ODD GIRL SHOP TODAY!! Grab yours while you can, you know they're a must for your collection. xo

Hey you, Candy Avenger

Hey Tiddly Inkers! :) It's time for another OLDIES post over at Tiddly Inks. Today it's my turn to show off another Avenger.

This little girlie is Candy Avenger and she is perfect for Halloween!! She's been coloured with PMs and FMs to match my papers from My Minds Eye.

I've stencilled some cloudy night sky behind the little Avenger, using Bashful Blue and Perfect Plum ink from SU! I've created the sentiment using a set from Amy R and punched it out using a 1"circle punch. I've adhered it to an orange Prima flower I had lying around in my stash and folded a length of mini orange ricrac behind it. For another added layer I've punched some polka dot patterned paper with a tab punch from SU! and folded that round the image panel.

I've layered up some of the patterned paper from the My Minds Eye collection and wrapped some grosgrain stitch ribbon and mini ricrac ribbon around for some added texture. I've created a bow using my Bow Easy and layered an orange button otop the knot - all from The Ribbon Girl. To tie the layers together, I've added some Pumpkin Pie doodles around the edges.

For finishing details I've dotted a few Doodlebug brads here and there. I'm not usually big on Halloween, but I love the dramatic black and orange combo! Plus, this Candy Avenger makes Halloween feel super fun! I hope she shares her bounty with her friends, her pumpkin looks like it's bursting with goodies!

I'd like to enter this card into these challenges:
- Scrap Creations - Pumpkins
- Hooked on Craft - Halloween
- Make in Monday - Anything Goes

Thank you for stopping by today. xo

All Stand for Princess Tia

How cute is sheee?! Perfectly cute. Don't forget about her little froggy friend too!!

GUESS WHAT!! IT'S DAY THREE!! Today we've got a brand new Tia to share with ya..

PRINCESS TIA

She comes in a 3x4 set with three images and two sentiments. I just know this set is gonna get a load of use for little girls birthdays! :) I've coloured Tia and her little froggy with the usual PMs and FMs. I've paper pieced her dress with the same papers I've used on the rest of the card from My Minds Eye.

I haven't followed any particular layout with this card, but I do know that vellum is featuring a lot in my designs lately. I love how it softens everything. :) Anywho. I've die cut a heart circle from vellum and adhered my two images over the top. The sentiment has been stamped in Pretty in Pink ink from SU! and punched with the Decorative Labels Punch. I've layered up some crochet lace and organza ribbon from The Ribbon Girl along the bottom and created a bow using my Bow Easy.. and just because I can.. I've added some buttons and flowers to finish the card off. I'm on a bit of a button kick lately, incase you haven't noticed already this week! ;) Heh.

So that's it for DAY THREE. Be sure to stop by the SOME ODD GIRL BLOG both today and TOMORROW for DAY FOUR!! I know you guys are gonna L-O-V-E what we've got to round of this release! ;) It's the perfect Halloween addition to a certain little set which has taken the blogging world by STORM!! Over and out. xo

Spwoooky Happenings

It's DAY TWO of the new clear release over at Some Odd Girl!! You guys already know what I'm talking 'bout, right? You've been waiting since yesterday for today to arrive, I just know it! ;) BUT incase you've been living under a rock during the run up to this release check out the SOME ODD GIRL BLOG.

Whoo loves Owls? ME!! I DO!! I DO!! What's not to love about this little guy.

Owl-ween

There are 6 super fun stamps in this little 3x4 set, and I've used five of them. I decided to create a little scene on a Labels Four die cut using a 1" circle stencil for the moon and some Bashful Blue and Perfect Plum ink from SU! I stamped the branch directly onto the die cut using Rich Cocoa Memento ink and coloured it using PMs and FMs. I also coloured the owl, his hat and the little bat with my PMs and FMs too. All three have been fussy cut and adhered to the card using dimensionals.

I used some delicious polka dot satin ribbon from The Ribbon Girl which I have tied with my Bow-Easy which makes it super easy to get the polka dots facing the right way! ;) I've added a little orange button threaded with some brown bakers twine over the knot, and job done.

I hope this Owl hasn't spooked ya too much! ;) Heh. Be sure to stop by tomorrow for DAY THREE of this amazeballs clear release! xo

SOG Oct Challenge

Afternoon ODDies! :) I know I'm super late, but it's better to be late than never. I find myself saying that a lot on this blog lately! LOL. Stick with me..

So you all know we've a new challenge over at Some Odd Girl at the beginning of each month.. and at the beginning of October we posted a brand new SKETCH CHALLENGE for you to join in with.

Here's what I come up with using the adorable Happy Tia and some My Minds Eyes goodness.

This was a commission from a gorgeous Irish girlie who often orders from me, she gives me total free reign, so I just went with it! :) I've used some yummy papers from My Minds Eye and coloured up Tia in a little pink and brown outfit to match!

I've used a mixture of sources to create the sentiment. The 'birthday wishes' is from a SU! set, 'RUBY' has been stamped out with some Lawn Fawn alpha stamps (both stamped in Rose Red ink from SU!) and the '2' has been die cut with the TH Vintage Market die.

I've layered up this design with banners, crochet lace trim and a vellum die cut. You can take our ODD sketches any which way you like. You can keep it CAS or go all out and layer it up big style. I've added a heap load of WOC goodness (I'm determined to use up over 75% of the flowers I already have before I even think about ordering anymore - even though some of their new designs are making me wanna die) some Doodlebug brads, oh and a little butterfly brad from SU!, and some Kaisercraft gems. Yummy. :) Last but not least I added some Candy Cane Stickles here and there. I really love how that stuff dries, it's not so much sparkly.. but chunky. Really good stuff. :)

Need some more inspiration? Head over to the SOME ODD GIRL BLOG now and see what the ODDies have whipped up for ya. Seriously. DO NOT MISS IT!!

Can't wait to see what you guys come up with!! <3 br="br" nbsp="nbsp">

Time for some FALL FUN at Some Odd Girl

Guess what?! It's time for some NEW STAMPS to add to your collection over at Some Odd Girl. Just in time for Autumn, Halloween and all that sorta colourful goodness!! We can't wait to show ya!

First up we've got a 4x6 set with two main images, one accent image, three sentiments and a bunch of cute little leaves to help tie your project together!!

FALL FUN

This little sweetie is perfect for Autumn and Winter, with her long coat, long socks, long scarf and comfy boots!! She's been coloured up using ProMarkers and FlexMarkers and fussy cut out. I just had to colour up that little pumpkin too.

I've used papers from Basic Grey and stamped some of the leaves onto different scraps to create a partial frame around my vellum die cut. I've added some layers behind the transparent focal point - patterned paper, metallic mesh and some brown gingham ribbon. I thought adding a bow to this design would take away from all the Autumnal happenings, so instead I added three clusters of buttons and bling. Simples. The sentiment is also part of that set. I've stamped it in Pumpkin Pie ink from SU! (how fitting!) and die cut it using a Whimsy die. That's about it from me for today! :]

Be sure to head over to the SOME ODD GIRL BLOG and see what other amazing projects the ODDies have whipped up for ya using Fall Fun!! You will not be dissapointed!!

Some Odd Girl Portfolio

Hi ya Oddies! It's Lou Mac here with todays Project Feature in the form of a little keepsake. All for yourself to keep. Forevers. Lemme show ya.

You know those times when you're colouring up your Some Odd Girl image.. and you're like "WOAH! I'm nailing this..!" Okay, maybe that's just me (sometimes colouring can be a little hit and miss with if I'm not in the zone). Well why not use those images to create a little catalogue of goodness all for you to feast your eyes on time and time again.

I bought a 6"x4" photo pocket album for really cheap, and thought it'd be the perfect way to display some of my favourite card fronts. Here is a design I came up with using Mushroom Fairy. She's adorable. I've coloured her up using the usual ProMarkers and FlexMarkers to match my papers from a waaaaaay old pack from Basic Grey called Indian Summer.

Wanna know what else is cool? You can keep a record of the products you've used and the colours you've worked with for future reference. I've just listed everything on the back of the card, this way it is easily accessible if I ever wanna work out a colour combo in the future.

So here is a picture of my little 'card front' inside one of the plastic wallets of the pocket album. I can't wait to fill this little beauty up with Some Odd Girl goodness and flick through it every now and then. It's a brilliant way to keep your inspiration flowing and all sorted in one little handy place.

Have fun making your own little keepsake book. Be sure to share it with us over at the Some Odd Girl FB page.

Thank you for stopping by, and enjoy the rest of your week!! Stay ODD. xo

Tuesday 2 October 2012

Hey, Young Man!!

Hey guys! It's Tuesday, and that can only mean one thing. It's time for another challenge over at Passion for ProMarkers, and today the challenge has been set by our very own Heidi - she wants to see those troublesome MALE CREATIONS that we know you guys can rock so well!!

FOR A MAN/ YOUTH

The lucky winner of this challenge will win a Collecters Set of ProMarkers courtesy of Letraset. Aren't we good to ya? ;) Get those entries in NOW. Here's some stuffs to inspire ya..

I've used an image from Some Odd Girl, this is Puppy Tobie and I LOVE his hoodie - don't you? I so need one of those as part of my winter threads this year. I've coloured him up with the usual ProMarkers and FlexMarkers to match my papers from Echo Park - This and That collection. LOVE those papers, so much so that I'm down to my last few sheets. ;)

I've added some yellow twill stripe ribbon from The Ribbon Girl and threaded a little olive button with some brown bakers twine to add some detail to the knot of that poofy bow. As for 'bling' which is always hard to include on a male card, I've sprinkled some Doodlebug brads here and there, in an odd number of course! The sentiment is from a Some Odd Girl Set, and I've stacked it up to fill in more of the white space around Tobie. Lastly, because none of my male cards would be complete without them, I've punched some stars using an SU! punch and some patterned papers from the same collection, which fills up that empty corner nicely.

I'd like to enter this card into these challenges:
Make it Monday - Anything Goes
Challenge 4 Everybody - Anything Goes
The Hybrid Chick - 7 Things
I have 7 brads on my card.

Before I go I've got some links to share with ya!
Have you seen the MINI DT CALL SOME ODD GIRL are having right now?! Think you're ODD enough? Get yo' ass OVER there right now and see if it's the right job for you! ;)

Along the SOME ODD GIRL ROUTE - we've a new challenge up and running for the month of OCTOBER, stop by HERE to see the sketch we'd like you to follow.
Last but by no means least.. IT'S TIDDLY TUESDAY.
Christy has whipped up some adorable Christmas and Halloween images for you guys to go crazy with.. and ALERT.. as of right NOW there is a SALE ON!! Check out THIS POST to find all the info! Do NOT miss out.

That's about it from me today. I've got workies til half 1, then I'm baking some cakes for my darts match and hopefully I'll fit a nap inbetween somewhere. I am WORN OUT.
