Clean and Simple at Tiddly Inks

Good morning Tiddly Inkers! :) This is a new, and my last, challenge over at Tiddly Inks! 

We want to see your CLEAN AND SIMPLE creations!! 

I decided to use a cutie from Mini and Many Friends, which I've coloured up using ProMarkers and die cut using a circles Spellbinder. I've added red faux stitching and some Platinum Stickles around the outside.

I embossed the red panel of the card with the Swiss Dots embossing folder from Provocraft. I added some turquoise stripe washi and a line of red twine with a little enamel heart atop the knot to finish off this CAS card!!

Travels

Happy Wednesday!! :) It's my turn to give you some Quixotic Inspiration today! Sorry I missed you all last week.. as many of you probably already know.. and are sick of hearing.. my laptop has been on the blink! BUT!! Here I am. :)

So, to give you guys a little bit of a break from The Greeting Farm, I thought I'd use a little Kraftin' Kimmie cutie instead. This is Michele from the Travel line designed by Annie Rodrigue! I've coloured her using ProMarkers and cut her using the largest circle nestie and layered it onto another scalloped circle.

I've used some yummy patterned papers from My Minds Eye Hattie collection which isn't up on the website right now, but take a look at the BRAND NEW MME stacks - gorgeous!!

Tickled Pink Stamps Challenges

As soon as I seen the new head for the Sew Easy Tool - Pennant Banner. HELLO!! So, truth is, it ain't all it's cracked up to be. In fact, I found that unless you make the line of pennants perfectly straight, then the triangle of holes ain't even?! WTH? Maybe it was just the way I was using it. But aside from all of that kerfuffle - I conquered it and in the end I created a template of three banners at a slight angle to use on my project for today! :)

Full credit goes to my boyfriend for stitching this tag while I sat and coloured the image. I think he's made a brilliant job, don't you? Don't compliment him too much, his head will explode. Needless to say he was very happy with himself! LOL.

Anyway, I bet you're saying.. WELL WHAT TAG?! Well, MY TAG FOR THE NEW TPS CHALLENGE, of course!!

I found this really tricky! LOL. I just don't get it. So I went with extremely CAS!! I was gonna add some white roses from WOC, but then I thought hell, why take more attention away from those perfecto banners?! LMAO!!

I have used the gorgeous Lil' Birthday Pinkette Coraline - you know the Pinkettes are my fave, so this new release is just right up my street. A girl's gotta have a stash of Birthday paraphernalia, right?

Hey, I'm not doing too bad with this whole a post a day thing am I? ;) Heehee.

Well.. today I have a card to share with you.. a very VERY CAS card. CAS not because I chose it to be - but because I literally had about 1 hour.. if that.. to make it.. typical. My Mother will insist on leaving it til the last minute to tell me it's a relatives birthday. I know, I know.. I can hear ya!! "You should have a birthday list - you're a cardmaker, girl" Well, I know.. I should. I even made a proper birthday book/box.. but I've yet to write people's birthdays in *rolls eyes*

A Naturals Ivory cardbase, stamps from PTI, ink from SU! and die cuts from TH Vintage Market alpha die. Easy. Peasy. I'm off to eat some Dino Mix and catch up on peoples blog's. Enjoy the rest of your evening.

Christmas Crunch Sunday #4

Here is the fourth installment of the series.. a little blue angel! :) A nice CAS card, which would be relatively easy to replicate.

I can't seem to drag myself away from Kraft for too long, its just delish!!

I love layering the prima flowers up with other things, like pearls, buttons and die cuts, like I have done on this card, it adds an extra dimension! :)

Sale-A-Bration 'Bliss' Round Uno

Well, Mr. UPS man came yesterday with some goodies I ordered from SU! I was super excited and couldn't wait to get stuck in.

First up I made a card using the Sandy Speckled roller and the extra large star punch - but that card is a DT creation - coming soon, so you'll have to keep your eyes peeled for that.

Onto the two cards I made with the 'Bliss' stamp set. My word, what a faf I had to make the card work out right. I was almost about to call it a day. But I had promised a friend I would make a card or two using this stamp set - plus, the images were perfect for a friends birthday coming up - very her style.

First I am going to show you the mess I made..

Let me tell you, I was less than impressed with the amount of flippin' cardstock I wasted. Gosh. On the right hand side is the destroyed focal point, destroyed by a smudge of glossy accents which I had used in order to apply some German Glass Glitter - that idea went down the drain. Notice the perfectly torn edges on the brown cardstock on the right compared to the left - you can never duplicate stuff like that - so I'm angry. Just as I was finishing up the card with a white line around the main focal point, I drew the line all wonky - and being the perfectionist I am - I just couldn't deal with it. So I had to start again..

Notice the gorgeous flecks of GGG (and the wonky line). I mean that stuff isn't overly expensive, but boy!! is the tub small, that is a little bit of GGG I'll never get back. Tut.

Now, onto the cards I actually ended up making with the stamp set - very CAS, but I think thats all that is needed.

CAS card using the flower stamp from the set on some Bazzill Kraft - using my new SU! Crumb Cake ink pad. Yum. Thats all I've got to say..

I think next time I would like to try and emboss the big flourish (if thats what you'd call it) in white onto some black cardstock - now that would look grand.

My Mams birthday is on the 21st of this month, and I picked up a free digi from Pink Gem designs at the end of last year - which is perfect for the card I wanted to create. So here is my DT take on the challenge..

I have kept the card pretty CAS, as I wanted the main focus to be on the big artificial flower. The colour of it is just gorgeous - so I tried to mirror that with my ProMarkers when colouring in the digi (didn't really turn out the same.. I need a LOT more practice with my ProMarkers).

Here is a close up of the flower in all its glory - stunning! I used some Core'dinations Chocolate box cardstock to cut a scalloped circle with my Making Memories slice and then embossed it using a woodgrain embossing folder - I then gently sanded the top to reveal the blue underneath. I layered my flower on top of that.

I cut a small slice of paper from the Crate Paper - Restoration pack and stitched small criss-crosses with beige embroidery floss and added a bow for detail. I went around the outside of the SU! Naturals Ivory card base with a brown fine liner to add in some faux stitching detail.

Christmas Crunch Sunday #2

Here is the second installment of CCS! This week I will be showing you a Clean and Simple (CAS) card, with a matching tag - for that little gift. I have used papers from Kaisercraft.

I added Stickle and faux stitching detail - to give a bit of interest. I love the shape of the polka dot paper. :)

Here is the matching tag - with the same baubles as the card, I also added stickles and faux stitching to make them 'match'. :) I cut the shape of the tag with my MM Slice using the Fa La La design card. I used some white embroidery floss to make it easier to attach to a present.

Congratulations

My friend and her boyfriend, now fiancé, got engaged not too long ago, and they are planning on celebrating it by throwing an engagement party at the end of this month.

Perfect opportunity to make a CAS card.

So here it is..

I gotta admit, I took inspiration from two very talented people in order to make this card, so I'm going to give credit where credit is due, firstly the idea of the actual card came from Lindsay at Note To Self with her Damask Congratulations card.. click --> HERE <-- to see that.. Then the idea for the butterflies came from none other than Kristina Werner herself, with her faux metal embellishment she created on a card for her Holiday Card Series 2010 click --> HERE <-- to view that. Not quite the same thing - but I love the effect none the less!!

Their party is on 22nd January, so I'll have to keep the card in a safe place between then and now and hope it doesn't disappear.

I didn't take a photo of the inside as I have already wrote a personal message, although the stamp from Hero Arts - Anytime Messages reads: some moments are worth holding in your heart forever.

Mojo Monday 172

Morning all, I am writing this last night, so excuse me for any mistakes, its pretty late.

I came across Mojo this week, and just had to have a go, as I have recently aquired a digi stamp from Meljen's Designs called I Heart You Badge - adorable, and I thought it would be perfect as the centre piece for this sketch.

Here is my take:

I used an A6 card blank from Papermania, along with some papers from American Crafts I Heart You collection - old collection, I know, but I {love} the pinks and browns together. I embossed a slice of Core'dinations Chocolate bBox cardstock with a Candy Stripe embossing folder and sanded it to reveal the pink underneath, to which I tied some pink gingham ribbon around in a bow. Seriously.. how cute is that digi?! I cut it out using the Classic Scalloped Circles (Large) Nestabilities.. Yum..

I took the photos while the stickles and the glue were still drying, no time like the present.. HA! I love the clean lines of this sketch.
