WOYWW 113

Okay, is it just me.. or is it TOO HOT?! God I'm dying. It might help if I sat still for longer than five minutes.. but there are things that need doing!! I cannot WAIT until September when the cooler weather starts gracing us with it's presence.. and once the leaves start falling off the trees the SNOW comes soon after!! Yipppeee. I love Autumn/Winter. The heat does me no good. At all. Anywho..

Time for another stampede of WOYWW fun over at Boss Dunnit's Stamping Ground. I haven't joined in for a while so I thought I'd tell you what my plans for tonight are! :) I've got all the prep sorted.

So.. what d'ya see?! Lots of repeated images? Correctomondo!! There is a lotta 'different' hair colour stuff happening over on Facebook and in blogland recently, so I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to give some PM combos a go! I've just started getting comfortable with various combos using my PM's and I really must start writing them down and making a record of how they look!

Gotta get me a little book to keep all of this goodness in! ;) Above the images is my challenges/combos/dt work/commissions/wishlist book. I had to replace my old one, it was F-U-L-L. I like to be organised, sometimes too organised. So a book designated to just colour is something I gotta get!! :)

Between my craft book and my diary can you see some black and white stripes and a strip of blue? That is one of my Gorjuss Girls I bought from Papercuts on Friday. HA! Neither of the two I bought have left my desk yet - I'm still to ink them up. *slap my wrists*

So my plan for tonight is to set up the ironing board - yes, I have a perfectly well lit lovely craft desk - but I like to colour in front of the TV some nights and the ironing board is the perfect height to get comfy on the sofa - bring my PMs and Copics down and boom - get some jazzy hair colours coloured and written down! :)

Thanks for stopping by today! :)

WOYWW - 108

It's been a while.. I know. But as I was crafting in the early hours of the morning the other night/morning I was thinking to myself.. gee.. the size of this desk and you're working on an area smaller than an a4 sheet of paper! LOL. Serious.

You can see my total hoard of WOC in their seperate boxes for their colour families. HA! ;)

To the very bottom left of my desk are some of my very treasured Waltzing Mouse stamps as well as my Stamp-a-ma-jig and my VERY treasured brown fineliner. I dread the day that bad boy runs out - I'll need to source a new one ASAP just in case!

The book you can see to the right hand side of the photo is my crafting book. It lists challenge blogs and challenges I would like to try and enter as well as 'To Do' lists for DT positions and other bits and bobs like PM combos etc.

To the left of my ATG gun is my xBox controller - I have taken to Twilight again and have watched the first three about 5 times in the past week. HA! When I'm not watching DVDs while crafting I listen to specfic radio stations for certain artists like Linkin Park etc, that way I don't have to listen to the same song 6000 times an hour on Capital FM.

How are ya liking my new blog layout?! I've had a right carry on today - it's had me round the twist!! But it's sorted now. Can you give me your opinions on the font please? Is it clear enough to read?! I'm debating changing it again - let me know!!

I'm off to have some cereal before I get inky - my tummy is rumbling terribly!

Sentimental Sundays - Patriotic/ Flag Colours

Hey guys!! How did you enjoy our Blog Hop last Sunday?! Fun or WHAT?! Seeing all of those summery, shiny, happy projects! I know it sure put a big smile on my face!

This week we have a more, serious shall we say, challenge. We want to see those patriotic cards, or cards using the colours of your countries flag!!

PATRIOTIC / COLOURS OF YOUR COUNTRIES FLAG

I decided to make myself a little bookmark - I've recently started reading again, now that I've finished uni, and all of the little bookmarks I made when I first discovered this project have been given away or sold - so I had to make myself a new one! :) I did plan on making a card using one of the gorgeous Tildas the lovely Ann stamped for me - sent all the way from CA!! I know, right?! But I think I need to refine my colouring technique for creases first. LOL! I will update this post with a picture of my first ever attempt at colouring a Tilda when I manage to get a picture of it!

I have used some STUNNING papers from Bearly Mine Designs - Summer's Rose collection, along with a bunch of layered up nesties cut from Blue Bayou, Whisper White and Crumb Cake cardstock. The bookmark has been made using Cherry Cobbler.

The sentiment is from the Garden Bun Bun Fairy Sentiments set from Whimsy Stamps - Raindrop Echo digis! I love the mixture of fonts - so neat!

Of course I had to add some flowers from WOC as well as some Baby Blue liquid pearls for embellishment! :) I ruffled some white seam binding to cover the join of the paper and cardstock.

I would like to enter this bookmark into these challenges:
× Catch The Bug - Red, White and Blue with Ribbon
× Challenge Up Your Life - Circles
× CES Challenges - Anything but Square
× Delightful Inspiration - Red, White and Blue and/ or Christmas Too
× Off the Wall Craftiness - Red, White and any shade of Blue
× Craft us Crazy - Red, White and Blue and/ or Summer Theme
× Crafty Purple Frog - Swirls and Pearls

Thanks for stopping by today - keep your eyes peeled for my update on my Sassy Drawers later today! xo Lou.

UPDATED: To add Tilda images.

So many emails; so little time!!

Hello all, and a happy WOYWW to you! :) What a day I've had soo far!! I had a pretty late night last night, and I had to be up at 7 this morning, yuck! It wasn't a pretty sight. I was due to have a lecture 9-11, the whole class waited until 9:30 - and we all up and went!! Why? Because the lecturer didn't turn up!! I was foaming! On the bright side, I got a fair few chapters of my book read on the metro there and back! I'm reading The Killing Place by Tess Gerritsen.. the woman's a flipping genius!!

Anywho, I have been a bit naughty of late and haven't joined in with WOYWW for weeks and weeks. Not that I'm a great miss, as there is never anything very exiciting happening.. but here is my desk anyway.

This picture was taken half way though making a card which will appear in my next post today, so I took it out of shot. As you can see I have junked piled on top of my laptop - I'm finding it increasingly difficult to craft without my laptop there, is that bad?

My orange Prima gems are looking a bit few and far between. Whoops. And.. you see the small brown alphabet stickers on the right hand side? I've ran out of 'E's.. what is a girl to do!?!

I've got my Imaginisce i-Top tool on the left hand side of the picture and one of the punches to the right, I love this little tool, I have had to order some more brad bodies because I have almost used all of mine!! Hmmm.. what else. To the very left of the picture are my two CD holders, which store my spellbinders nestabilities. I have a question, to anyone who stores their nesties this way.. what do you do with the Labels Ten dies?! They're huge!!

 ************

So because going to uni was a waste of time, I got in earlier than I would have usually, so I used the time to catch up on my DT comments, I'm getting really terrible with stuff like that, but all is up to date and correct.. for now!! I'll check back again tonight to see if any more entries have been added. Also, I have sooo many emails to reply to that I didn't get round to last night, I did try though - that's why I didn't get to bed til late!! :(

I'm off now to schedule some more posts - make some dinner - and then get crafting!! Woohoo. I have a few things in mind I really want to try out before I forget. I have a darts meeting tonight - boohoo, but it will break up my day. With any luck, when I get back in I might be in the mood to do some uni work - no promises though! Yuck.

Enjoy the rest of your day. xo

WOYWW

Good afternoon - glad you could stop by today. Its been full steam ahead today since I rose at 7. I've been to uni for a 2 hour lecture, the post office to post parcels, catching up on my comments for DTs and checking out my eBay and PayPal accounts. Whew.. and on top of all that I had a little experiment to run.

So in my post laaaate last night I said that I would go over some ways of storage I use atop my desk. As I do have a corner desk I have that little bit of extra room to keep stuff out. I like things to be around the edges, and so I have come up with little ways of having some things in full view all of the time. (Apologies now for the blurry photos - my camera wasn't playing nice!)

Here is a general overview of my desk - the contents of my bag was chucked onto the desk as soon as I walked through the door.. there to act as a reminder that I HAVE WORK TO DO!! No matter how long I put it off for, it will HAVE TO BE DONE..

Anyway..

Here are a set of mini drawers I picked up from Asda on Monday , the cost me around £6 which is reasonable. Top drawer: cards I need to stamp with my details, post about on my blog and them wrap with an envelope into a cellophane bag. Second drawer: stamp images which need colour or are coloured, digi paper and digi designs that I could put to good use. Third drawer: all of my The Ribbon Girl purchases, I can see myself needing a bigger drawer for all that stuff soon though, hehe. Bottom drawer: as it stands its empty, but hey.. Iv've only had the unit two days!!

Now for the experiment I mentioned.. This be Mr. Laminator. :) He's pleased to meet you too.. Anyhoo.. I want to start experimenting with Distress Inks and a blender pen, and needed something bigger than the surface of an acrylic block to play on. So a friend over at the Trimcraft forum (thank you Tracy!! *big grin*) suggested I laminate a slice of paper or cardstock, that way I can create my own slick water proof surface. So when I got in from uni I set about doing that. At first I wanted to create an a3 size, which can be seen in the above picture (just folded in half), but I found I had real trouble feeding the paper in once it got past the first slice of a4 laminating sheet - if you get me.. so I opted to make an a4 size instead and I'll see how I get along with that.

a4 sheet of laminated cardstock

And last but not least. One of the reasons I wanted a Cuttlebug was not really for the embossing folders (although I do love them..) it was more for die cutting - specifically with Nestabilities. The picture on the left shows a cheap CD tower which I have used to store my Nesties which I placed in CD cases with some DST. It works so well for me. I only have 5 sets of Nesties at the moment - I hope my collection will grow - the bottom two cases are home to some of my Whimsy Stamp Ticket sentiments and matching die! :)

The picture of the right is of a bookmark I recieved off Di over at the Trimcraft forum as part of a bookmark swap - unfortunately I never took pictures of mine before I posted it off to her, but I though I would show you the gorgeous one she made me using ribbon weaving! :)

Well, thats all for now, thanks for stopping by. I'm off to make some dinner while I have everything under control. I apologise now if I don't make it round peoples blogs - I feel like I spend more time commenting that I do posting these days, what with the DT positions. My poor keyboard is worn out at times. Luckily most of the uni work I will be doing later is using the number keys - give the little letters a rest! LOL.

Enjoy the rest of your day. xo

WOYWW

Good afternoon everyone, thanks for stopping by. Its all doom and gloom here in the North East today - the weather is yuck, but its cool and fresh, so I'm not complaining!! Hehe.

Here is the picture of my desk which was taken in the early hours of this morning - when I really should have been sleeping in order to prepare myself for the earliest start I've had in months (first day back at uni).. but instead I was making this card..

A bit going on today - I think this may be one of the only pictures I have posted which actually shows me mid-crafting! LOL. All the goings on on my desk can be seen finished up on my previous post here. As you can see I have my laptop out - I'm finding it increasingly difficult to craft without it there - and one of these days I am going to end up spilling glue or glitter or embossing powder all over it. Poor thing - it will make a change from drinks or soup I suppose.. don't ask. *blush*

I have my Cuttlebug and my Slice out at either side of the desk (boy, I'm lucky to have all of these gadgets - its what makes crafting to fun and easy). Talking of gadgets I recently ordered myself an i-Top tool from Imaginisce - it arrived yesterday, but I haven't got round to using it yet!! That is on my list of things to do today, before I have my darts 2nd round of doubles tonight. I want to get ahead on my DT positions so I'm going to sit down and craft!! Thats after I have been shopping and had my ham and spicy cheese toasty made with a multigrain mission deli wrap for dinner. Why I end up talking about food on WOYWW I do not know.. *whistles to self and rolls eyes*

So, thats about all I have for you today, I hope its enough, I know I have been neglecting my blog a bit lately!!..

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank a few people:
Roz, for being my friend and guiding me with various craft-y related ventures
Mei, for offering me a chance to create cards with her products to showcase them on her blog and at craft fairs..
a few craft websites such as The Ribbon Girl, Quixotic Paperie and Bunny Zoe Crafts..
and my other online friends, such as Lexi, Katrina, Kim and Donna.

Thank you so very much ladies - you are the people who make this hobby all the more fun!

WOYWW #85

Afternoon all, sorry I couldn't contribute last week, lifes all getting a bit too much at the moment. Time for, SCONES AND WHIPPED CREAM - they sure sort lifes problems out.. well, they help!! Dramatically.

Centre stage are some lovely sultana scones with
strawberry jam and sweetned whipped
cream - DREAM DAY!! Oh, along with a huuuuge
mug of sweet sweet coffee. *YUM*
But you didn't come here to drool over food, so here is a picture of my desk taken earlier today when I was playing with my new stash. If you have been following my blog you will know that recently I treated myself to some new craft stuff. Ummm.. I went a bit OTT, but its been a while! :D LOL

Ahh, there is The Greeting Farm - Oh Boy! Ian, what a cutie. That slither of patterned paper is what I used to paper piece his shirt - now if that ain't resourceful.. you know the rest. Along side Ian are my very shabby looking boxes of ProMarkers. I must re-vamp them, but hey.. I'll just be saying that to myself for months while I get on with more adventurous and exciting stuff. In that Kraft-y coloured box to the right of the picture are all my new stamps which I have recently acquired, along with some ribbon from The Ribbon Girl and a few Kraft envelopes from Maya Road.

This morning my order from SU! came - super excited. I got the 'Bliss' clear stamp set from the saleabration, gorgeous designs - I'm off to make a card with them right now. Along side my first ever wheel stamp thingy - you know the type. And of course.. *drum roll please* some Crumb Cake ink - I'm waiting on the cardstock to arrive in a seperate shipping - it must have been flying off the shelves!! I plan on doing a comparison video between Bazzill Kraft, PTI Kraft and SU! Crumb Cake, once I have them all of course. So look out for that if your into you Kraft as much as I am.

The picture that follows is my order from Quixotic Paperie - fab site and super friendly and helpful (and talented) staff.

Can you tell I'm a fan of The Greeting Farm? Their images are adorable! Along side those are two rubber stamps from Kenny K's new collection and also a Marianne Creatable Die - Ribbon Flower 1 I believe. You can see it in use here. Its gorgeously gorgeous. But a pain in thee ass to remove the paper from after you have cut it.

QUESTION/ADVICE: Does anyone have a tip or trick for getting the paper out of the Marianne Dies without actually destroying the die or the paper and one that doesn't take half an hour. I was on for at least 10 minutes last night picking the paper out with the very tip of my craft knife! What a faf. But apart from that - beautiful results!

Thats all for now - I'm off to make a few cards with my new stuff. New stash doesn't leave that Kraft-y coloured box until it has been used at least three times (stamps that is..) I'm sticking to my resolutions as much as I can - I promise. *sweet smile*

Head on over to Julia's blog to check out other peoples work desks! :) Have fun. xo

Q: What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday?

A: A lota boooring stuff!! Otherwise known as uni assignments!!

You will notice the lack of laptop.. this is due to the fact that my blog addiction has become SERIOUSLY SERIOUS. I find it very hard to drag myself away from crafters blogs for long enough to do some research on the net. Therefore I have to do the desk work first using books and journals and then focus.. and focus real hard on searching for online journals and websites to aid in my assignment referencing!! Its a nightmare, haha. Luckily it only happens in phases, some days I can be a good girl.. really.. I can! :) HA!

Some lovely geography/environment related books {love}. Sometimes they are the only things that motivate me to do assignments, some of the assignment/report titles are shockingly boring!! Where as others really interest me and I find it hard to stick to the word limit! Hehe.

Sorry for the lack of crafty related stuff today.. but I've gotta get my priorities sorted out before I get back to uni!! Yuck. A lovely lacey circle cut out of brown felt a top my Ariel boxes, I'm still waiting for a creation to arise where I can use that. I don't even know why I cut it, LOL.

To the right, my new CUTTLEBUG.. ahhh I love him. I don't know how I managed to craft without him. My rubbish bin is overflowing, need to empty that sometime soon. My looovely little Paperchase pencil case above my post-it notes.

To the very bottom left you can just catch a glimpse of the corner of my new printer - love him too. Gosh, my boyfriend has got a lot of competition!

Just got back from shopping not too long ago, Asda was still choca-block. You would think they were giving the stuff away. Had to take all the Christmas stuff down, what a chore. Putting the tree up is all fine and dandy.. taking it down is a whole different story!!

Well, the uni work calls, must be off. Thats all for now, thanks for stopping by!

WOYWW 81 (inc. Sew Easy review)

I've got a few things to show/tell you today, so I best get cracking. After I tell you the state of the weather WINTER WONDERLAND is the phrase of the day, even the slush has been turned to crisp whiteness, the snow is falling so heavy. It looks beautiful - for once.

Onto my desk.. a closed laptop and a lack of Ribena or coffee, the reason for this - I had just got up. Centre stage is my copy of Cardmaking & Papercraft, with and email of mine which I sent in a few months ago! Yippee, a friend on Trimcraft alerted me too it, and so I rushed out to buy a copy last night.

In the left hand corner of the picture are some cards I made last night (I have tidied up the wreckage caused by those.. - I'll be posting some later). In front of those is my Kindle, in its lovely blue cover, LOVE this piece of technology. YUM! On top of that is my first attempt at a friendship bracelet, if anyone is interested, let me know and I will post about them in more depth. They are really fun, and although at first it seems like they will take ages - it passes the time away quite nicely when you are watching crap TV.

My email including one picture of the two I sent in - which were cards
made using the Bentley Bear Chipboard embellishments (the free gift
included in the magazine).
Stacked up at the right hand side are some of my embossing powders (I keep them in plastic boxes as it eases the use of them, both application and tidying up)- as well as some Versamark. And then closest to the camera are some goodies I bought off another friend on Trimcraft, some Coordinations card stock (for use with my CB - when I get it!! after Santa has been - can't wait to start playing), and a background stamp.

Oh, and on the chair is my beloved bag from Accessorize - its navy blue and brown with flowers and deers and things on, and its HUGE! :D I use my North Face brown plaid backpack for uni though - otherwise I would end up with curvature of the spine - seriously!

WRMK - SEW EASY TOOL REVIEW - *CLICK HERE*

Anything else.. let me know.

WOYWW 80

Afternoon! I have managed to join you all again this week!! I take it you have stopped by to spectate the very mess that is my desk.. If you don't know what I'm talking about, pop on over to Chief WOYWW'er Julia's blog to get the lowdown..

Here is mine, in all its messy glory (for a change)

You might be glad to see that the laptop is back this week, but the Ribena isn't. Well, there is a reason behind that, my new liquid addiction is coffee with brown sugar (I'll be diabetic before the year is through), but you didn't come here to listen to that.

Centre stage is a piece of the puzzle for my first ever DT creation, sooo excited. I managed to get that card finished up today, just gotta wait for the glitter to dry, and them some daylight to photograph it.

A load of stuff off to the left hand side, scissors, ProMarkers, heat gun, Whimsy stamps. And the usual suspects, my boxes of ProMarkers, my pen cup and pencil case, stapler etc. The grey thing with the green thing on the end near the top of my cutting mat, is the WRMK - Sew Easy tool. I've had it a couple of months now and LOVE IT! Thats why there is stitching on almost every card with room! LOL.

Not much else going on really, umm.. my 'paper bin' needs emptying. I think I'll go do that now, BEFORE ANYMORE SNOW FALLS!

Thanks for stopping by, Lou. xo

WOYWW 79

Hey all, its been a while since I joined in here, but hey, I'm back now.

Lets not beat around the bush, I'm just gonna upload this picture and talk you through it, as usual.

Here goes..

So, first things first.. no laptop.. no Ribena. 'Whats going on?!' I hear you say. Do not worry.. 1. The Internet wasn't working, therefore no need to have my laptop take up space on the desk and 2. I had no cold water in the fridge in which to make a glass of Ribena with, hence the lack of Ribena goodness on the desk.

The main thing going on here is the little production line I've got going. Okay okay, I was only making four of the same card. Not the point. I like to have things in order. You can see a little 3 3/4"x3 3/4" card up in the right of the picture somewhere. Cutesy little thing, made with papers from Crate Paper - Snow Day collection and some Kraft (Bazzil) and More Mustard (SU!) cardstock. The More Mustard coordinates lovely with some of the papers from that collection. As does Rose Red, Pumpkin Pie and Bashful Blue. I wish I had taken a picture of the four cards when they were finished, as I altered them all slightly using a different colour. Shame.

Hmm. Not really much else going on that you haven't seen before. Once again, my left handedness prevails, with all the tools on the left hand side of my cutting mat, which I always work on. I was thinking about trying out a glass mat, but then I thought.. naaa, the money I use buying one, I could be buying paper packs instead. The biggest glass mat I have is the one for my Slice. Hehe.

You can see a new design of punch from SU!, again, on the right hand side of the picture. So handy, they 'fold' up so small. That particular one is the 'Jewellery Tag' punch, which coordinates perfectly with the 'Tiny Tags' stamp set.

As you can see, my paper 'bin' (little plastic box) is getting full again. I must say though, I don't throw half as much stuff out as I used to. Even the thinnest strip of paper/cardstock gets kept if it hasn't been cut into, you never know when it could come in handy for stamping a sentiment on.

My little Dovecraft tape runner adhesive on the left hand side of my cutting mat there, I wanted to try out some new tape runner adhesive, just as a comparison sorta thing, but me and my pink runner get along so fine, that I would feel as though I was betraying him if I was to go try another guy.

Thats it for my desk, now onto my Christmas Tree.

This picture? Does it NO justice.. what so ever. Like seriously. It looks crap. LOL. My gorgeous little (big - 6ft) tree is a colour known as 'Champagne' - or gold to us commoners. My Mam and me decided to decorate it with green baubles, and green baubles only. And honestly, I'm not just saying this, it looks spectacular. We went down the gold road as we have gold and cream wallpaper, and it totally sets the tree off. Shame we didn't have any gold and green wrapping paper for the presents too. It looks like Santa's has already visited our house, there are presents ALL over. I love Christmas :D.

Hope you are all well, and the snow is receding around your area.

WOYWW 77

Hey all, sorry it has been a while since I have last been able to join you, uni and home life has been hectic to say the least. I've been lucky to cram a few cards in never mind blog post, LOL.

Anyway, I had just got in from uni (first time I've been in this week; due to 'adverse weather conditions' in short - I have been snowed in, and since my boyfriend was off work today he offered to give me a lift in), to find my Lili of the Valley stamps waiting for my in their package on the arm of the living room chair. YAY :D

So I thought I would arrange them on my desk, and let you take a peek at the other (extremely uninterestin') stuff I've got going on..

So.. I've made the picture extra large, as I have quite a bit going on that I'm gonna attempt to talk you through.. [If you are just here to look at the picture; stop reading now!]

So, going from left to right. There, next to my pink post its, is my 'Little Blue Book' in which I write EVERYTHING down in, literally.. everything that needs doing, or quite simply.. nothing gets done. :) To the top of that are some stickles and liquid pearls, got love those little bottles of jewels, hehe.

To the back behind my laptop hides (if not so well) my Ariel Excel Tab boxes FULL of ProMarkers. Yikes, I have more than I thought, if you look at the laptop keyboard you can see the colour chart which I printed off on Rymans 200gsm white coated cardstock and filled in. This has been really helpful, as now I can see where the gaps in my colours lie. My next mission is to slowly fill up these spaces with brand new pens. So.. if you have any you are willing to swap or sell, please leave me a comment and an email address! *hinthint*

Moving on.. to the below my laptop are my new stamps from Lili of the Valley! :D They are mostly Christmas ones, so you may see a few featured here at my blog in the coming days, not long left now to make Christmas cards I hear you cry. Ahh, but there is always time to cram in just a few more..

A list of the stamps I got: Christmas Robins, Christmas Candle, Bird House - Baubles, James Bear - In the Snow, James Bear - Deck the Halls, Jenny Bear - All Shopped Out, Rosie with Cake and Coffee Break.

Next to that is my PCI magazine (where I got the following idea from), along with an ATC folder, which is going to be my long term project for over the Christmas holidays while off uni, taking a stock check of all the stash I own. Pretty neat idea really, and seen as I never really could get into ATCs I might aswell use this folder for something useful.

To the right of my laptop is thee ever present R I B E N A. Jeez, I really think I am addicted to the stuff, I get all moody if I don't have my moody doseage, and if someone asks to take a drink of it I hit the roof (joke).

And lastly.. I think. To the very right of my desk, is my freshly emptied paper bin (purple plasic box atop the really useful boxes) along with ProMarkers which are duplicates which I hope to swap, as well as some envelopes with goodies in which I need to send off to some of my friends over at Trimcraft. Oh, and the Avon, its crap this time I must say.

I think that covers just about everything, any questions about what you see or you just want to ask me something in general please leave a comment.

Hope your staying warm where ever you are, and if your in a part of the country which hasn't been affected by snow yet, watch out, and please be careful. Lou. xo

WOYWW 03/11/10

Evening. Hope you are all well.

I'll apologise now for the quality of the picture, the lighting is all wrong. I am crap at taking decent photos.

I've had a long day today! Booo!! :( Up at 7, at uni for half 8. Lectures fro 9 right the way through til 1 with no break. My brain can not take in any more information today!!

Onto the picture of the desk then ay..?

So I guess I should best talk you through what is acutally on the desk, as I doubt many of you will be able to or will want to decipher that m.e.s.s.

So, centre stage is the current assignment of the week, Environmental Impact Assessments. Yack. Along with files for the module, note book and sticky post its! The sheet of paper lying under the pen is a 'Food Diary' or more specifically a 'Waste Food Diary'. For the next week, me, and the rest of my Waste Management class, have to record a diary of the food waste we throw out, including, what that food waste was, how much of it was thrown away, the reason for it being disposed and where it was disposed to, i.e bin or composting.

Under the big file is the most recent issue of PaperCraft Inspiration {love} I got a mini Tonic snowflake punch with this issue, which I plan on using to make the confetti for shaker cards, which will be a first for me, when I get round to it.

On the left hand side of my mouse is my 18Month diary, which I still havent go round to decorating, boy, I can see a reoccuring theme here.. and to the right hand side is my BEAUTIFUL PaperChase pencil case!

To the very top right hand corner of the picture is my 'paper bin', which in reality is a tiny little basket which sits on my desk all the time and any paper waste I have, whether it be from crafting or receipts or what have you.. goes in there. This sits on top of my three tier Really Useful Box unit. Below that is my xBox remote and an Ariel Excel Tabs box, which has been converted to ProMarker storage case! :) I have been slowly labelling little circular labels, well I say labelling, what I mean is colouring in. That way I can see at a glance which colours are which from the side of the box without having to take them all out! Handy! :)

What else..? Not much more of any interest, the majority of things, such as my Corner Chomper and stapler are always sitting at my desk, so you have probably seen them all before. To the right of the picture is my charger for my Making Memories Slice, along with some parcel tape and some average cellotape on a big roll, which I HATE!! I have a mini dispenser, but I need to get around to buying a refill.

Ok, I'll leave it at that. If there is anything else you are dying to know about or if you can't see anything clearly, please feel free to email me. loulouwas@hotmail.com

Best go get ready n tided up from tea. I had Chicken Tikka Masala with Naan bread and boiled rice. Yummy. Made by my fair hands.. with a little help from Sharwoods of course. I have darts again tonight, although this time it is our knockout game. Yikes!! :) Wish us luck.

I will try to get around as many desks as I can, but no promises, I am rushed off my feet with deadlines, but I MUSTMUSTMUST squeeze some card making in between, so that takes up pretty much all of my time!!

Take care! Lou. xo

WOYWW 27/10/10

Hey all, a quick post tonight, as I have just returned from picking my boyfriend up from rugby practice, and I have yet to sort bits and bobs out for tomorrow (errands, uni notes, bank stuff). Yack, boorrring. I would like a relatively early night. Its been so long since I've had an early night and a lie in, I'm beginning to forget how good (or apparently so..) they feel.

Onto the desk..

In all fairness, there isn't a lot going on. This was the 'mess' I left it in before I went and picked my boyfriend up. I was trying out a stamped image to see how well it would work with paper piecing. I got as far as stamping the image..

To the right hand side is my pink bag full of nail varnish and everything to do with 'painting your nails'. Little nail gems, primers, top coats. The lot. You would think I was interested in beauty, let me tell you now. I'm not. I merely like to have a little colour on my nails for the simple fact they used to constantly be in my mouth getting chewed when I was younger, and now they're not, they're lovely and long (if I do say so myself!!).

To the very right are two books, one I have just finished reading, another I am about to read for the 3rd time! :) {HEART} James Herbert.

There isn't really much else for me to add. A glass of Ribena on the left hand side. (next to the laptop - naughty Lou!! You don't wanna know how many of my laptops have suffered from spilt liquid, yet I still don't learn..) I seem to be ADDICTED to the stuff. Only the diluty one though.

Um.. I went for the implant earlier today. And me being the sicko that I am watched and loved every minute of it! :) I don't care about needles and all that nonsense. In fact, I like grusome stuff. It doesn't hurt, as they numb it with local anesthetic first. Just thought I'd let you all know! :)

Thats it, I'm off. Time is escaping me.. as always. I'll try and pop round some workspaces soon!

[Note:] This was meant to be a quick post. Yeah right, I don't have it in me..

Take care. xo

WOYWW

Wowza, seems like I am just in time to upload my photo as image uploads will be disabled for two hours from 5.00pm. Yikes. So, gotta get this in here quick, so no chatting. Although I can't guarantee that..

Phew.. uploaded..

So, what a right one we have here don't we? Not much craftyness going on, well, lets be honest, not much craftyness going on at all!! I'm afraid I have/had an assignment due in for tomorrow, good new: its completed and I managed to hand it in early. First time for everything and all that. I amazed myself. However the aftermath can still be seen!! I must admit, it isn't as bad as it was, I sorta tidyed up a bit (oops) so you could get a feel of my whole desk as opposed to the piles of paper that were covering it!

Anyway.. my lovely corner desk in full right there for ya, I kindly moved the chair out of the photo so you can have a neb underneath! You might just be able to make out my MS - Circle cutter on the left hand side, and my gorgeous SU! ink pads on the right hand side of the slidly out drawer thingy. I {heart} those things!!

As you may be able to tell, regardless of whether I am crafting at my desk or studying, it is always surround by stash.. On the table top, underneath and on both sides. Crikey, I have a lot of stuff for someone who hasnt even been crafting a year. The whole three drawers right on the left hand side of the photo are JAM PACKED with stash. Top drawer - 6x6 paper pads, heat gun, stampamajig, card sketch book. 2nd drawer - embellishments, ashesive. Bottom draw - stamp sets. FULL.

What else on there catches your eye? :)

Ohhh, and my G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S Paperchase Pencil Case (Day Trippers line) I {lovelovelove} that thing!! You can just about make it out on the right hand side of my corner chomper (sorry for the quality of the photo, not very good lighting on my behalf). Right inbetween those are my little pots with the names in for my Trimcraft Swop&Share Draws, which will be drawn on Friday. They're getting quite full with names! LOL.

Anyhoo, I think that is about it for now!! :) I have one more scheduled post for during the week, and I might pop in a few more suprises depending on how well I get on with studying, althought personally.. I think I deserve a break!!

Why don'tcha hop on over to Julia's blog to join in the fun and do a bit of blog hopping!!

Take care. xo

WOYWW 71

Hey all, last post for the night, I promise. :) I just had to had to get my WOYWW picture entered, as this is the first week I have ever entered the blog club, if you could call it that.

Here goes..

So I'm posting this on a Thursday, but that doesn't make a difference right? I hope not anyway..

Soo.. what can we see? Centre stage on my cutting mat, which I use as a craft mat/protective surface on my desk as well as a cutting mat, is the wedding card I made today. :) Above that there are some patterned papers from American Crafts I Do paper collection, YUM!! I love the cool mint greens. Directly on the right hand side are some Hero Arts and American Crafts stamps and SU! ink on top of my Fiskars paper trimmer {Love}, I have had that little thing since I first began crafting!

On the left hand side of the desk are my tools, you can tell I'm left handed from this picture!! My trusty little Making Memories Slice, I love love love that thing! My new little square (as near to Kraft as I can find without making them myself) envelopes, my little paper snips from SU!, some liquid pearls, foam adhesive, cello tape, and of course my laptop under all the junk with Kristina Werner playing in the background. There is my pencil case in the upper right hand corner, which I keep my bone folder, white gel pen and tweezers etc in, and beside that my recently lost once now found sponge which has been cut into various pieces to use with different inks.

Removable adhesive: green, permanent adhesive: pink. Versamark ink and some American Crafts white embossing powder which I keep in a little lunch box as it is quicker to both use and tidy away! :) Lying over the metal ruler on the acrylic block is my handmade stamp. It reads.. Handmade by Louise McConnachie in Century Gothic font, simple and to the point! LOL.

What else to say? I don't think it is that much of a mess, I have seen it in a much worse state!! I craft on my work desk in the corner of my bedroom, and because my desk has multiple uses I have to tidy away whatever was on there before I can get anything else started. Therefore my desk only gets the chance to become messy whilst I'm in the process of making a card/project.

If you want to join in head on over to Julia's blog to get started.
