Betcha Thought..

I was gonna miss the Pollycraft DT Call deadline.
Fear not, friends.

I printed out the adorable Daisy from the Candyfloss Crew (Don't you LOVE it?!) out late yesterday afternoon.. and spent nearly the entire night in front of the TV colouring her. Then.. I had to go to bed.. then.. I had to get up and go to work.. and I've only just got round to finishing up a card with her.

I printed her out at 5" so I had a lot of Daisy to colour.. and I made a pretty simple card by my standards with just some pretty papers, a slice of ribbon and a button here and there. Oh, and of course a few drops of Stickles and Liquid Pearls. :)

My papers are from My Minds Eye Memorable collection. GAWD. I can't get enough of the stuff. I've added some lace and twill stripe ribbon from The Ribbon Girl. I loved that paisley paper too much to cover it up anymore.

I coloured Daisy with my ProMarkers. Here's a list of combos some of you may be interested in:
Hair - Buttercup, Mustard, Gold, Raw Sienna
Jeans - Stonewash, Cloud Blue, Cobalt Blue, Midnight Blue
Pullover - Tea Rose, Budding Rose?, Dusky Rose, Antique Pink

How pretty is she? Perfect for all sorts of occasions. I added an old Pollycraft sentiment to the side of the image, which I hoped would leave me more room for embellishment on the card.. look what happened?! HAH!

That's all I got for ya guys.

You've two more days to enter the Pollycraft DT Call over at Paula's blog. How could I pass up this opportunity? I have loved working with Paula, her digis and her awesome DT and am over the moon that things have started up again and everything is looking brighter for everyone.

Goodevening, all. xo

It's a biggie today over at Passion for ProMarkers!

We've got an easy peasy challenge and a H-U-G-E prize for some lucky peoples!

It's our ANNIVERSARY and we wanna see ANYTHING GOES

That sounds too good not to join in, right? I bet you wanna hear what the list of prizes include no?

Saturated canary banner
Michele R Designs - $10 of digi papers

Dies to Die For - £10 voucher
Dies to Die For logo
Bearly Mine Design - £10 voucher
Bearly Mine Designs shop badge

Now onto some inspiration..

I used the gorgeous Fancy from Saturated Canary as well as some papers from Teresa Collins. I've coloured her up with my ProMarkers and given her a rich red dress with a grey bodice. I love the ribbon and roses in her hair so I coloured them to match the rest of her pretty outfit. To add a little contrast I coloured the daisies blue, and added baby blue Liquid Pearls to her hair too.

I used a bunch of Wild Orchid Craft goodness as well as a rolled paper daisy I die cut using a MFT die. Those papers from Teresa Collins include a page of little instax frames? which I cut up and layered behind my sentiment which I stamped using some Lawn Fawn alpha stamps and die cut using a La-La Lands banner die.

That's all I've got today. Be sure to stop by the Passion for ProMarkers blog to see what all of the girls have come up with this week. Both teams have joined in so there is double the projects to feast your eyes on!

Dancing with Ginger!

This girl has a kinda salsa flair to her I think. She's such a treat to colour - I love that dress. Next time I'ma be brave and colour her up as a platinum blonde with a rich red dress. For now, I stuck with more pastel colours.

This is Ginger from Time for Tea Designs

I've coloured her with ProMarkers to match my papers from My Minds Eye, which I can't stop using at the moment. In case anyone is interested in the combo for her dress - Tea Rose, Dusky Rose, Antique Pink.

I used a bunch of die cuts on the right hand side of the labels 10 spellbinder. (That was a challenge I set myself last week. I don't have many Spellbinders and I always use the same ones over and over, my labels 10 just sits unloved as it's kinda a silly shape. I used to use it all the time for home made tags). There are some Whimsy Stamps things, Xcut, Amy R Stamps and La-La Land Crafts. I stitched some buttons here and there and added some flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts. That's about it from me today.

Thanks for stopping by. xo

Best Friends - Wryn and Emmy

Us four (how common does that sound? I don't know how else to word it, hah!!) had a fantastic time at The Deep Aquarium in Hull yesterday. We stopped a Whitby on the way back for (fish) and chips. Well, I had vegetarian lasagne and a jacket potato. :) A really good round up to the brilliant week I've had off work! :)

I thought I'd share a few photos from our day.

So onto the point of todays post.. here's a card I created as a commission for a lovely lady, so hopefully her friend who she's giving it to isn't a reader of my blog! :P

I spied the new challenge over a Tiddly Inks which was use a Wryn. How could I not join in? I had to, HAD to use Wryn and Emmy! :) I coloured them up to match the lady and her friend, brown and blonde hair. :) I went a little OTT with the pleats in their dresses, but you gotta get the practice in somehow, right?

I coloured Wryn and Emmy to match my papers from My Minds Eye. Lots of pinks and aquas and a touch of purple. I added a stamped sentiment from Hero Arts as well as a bunch of alpha stickers from Cosmo Cricket.

I'd like to enter this card into these challenges:
Tiddly Inks - Use a Wryn
Crafty Sentiments - Add a Charm
Stampin' for the Weekend - Button it Up

Thanks for stopping by. :) Enjoy the rest of your weekend. xo

Bursting with Orange!!

So my sister, she LOVES the colour orange. If it was an actual.. thing.. she'd probably bathe in it. That aside, each year is always a challenge when it comes to her birthday as I usually have to make two cards. One off me and one for my niece to give to her.

This is the card I made for my niece to give to her this year..

I went a little Stampin' Up cray-zee!! Heh.

Fun times ahead. Hopefully by the time this post goes live I'll be well on my way to Hull to visit The Deep Aquarium with my boyfriend and friends. Yipppeee!!

So following on from yesterday, this is another wedding card I made. This time it was for my brother and his new wife. Our second name is McConnachie and didn't really fancy having that on the front of a card, could you imagine? That's not to say I'm not incredibly proud of my family name! :)

Their invitation didn't really give much away, so I went with a classic black and white theme. Can't go wrong with that, right? On the day, I found out that their 'colour' was mint green. I was gutted. One of my favourite colours to work with!! Never mind.

I layered up a bunch of plain circles and a heart circle that I die cut from vellum. The names from a Lawn Fawn Alpha set have been stamped in Brilliance Graphite Black. LOVE how crisp that ink is!!

As for embellishments, I added some crisp white satin ribbon in a double bow from The Ribbon Girl to the bottom right of the circle and then tucked in some kinda flower spray fandangle from Wild Orchid Crafts which I bent to follow the side of the circle. Kinda likey! :)

That's all from me for another day!

Add a Dash of Yellow

It's me, back again for the 4th day in a row! :) ..or is it the 5th.

Anyway, this is a wedding card I made for my friends cousin who was getting married on Saturday. I got total free reign with this card, down to colours and everything. The only thing she wanted on was their names and date.

I went with a white, yellow and black colour scheme using papers from an older My Minds Eye pack. I've had real trouble using this paper pack in the past, and now I've used it twice in one week. I also used it on my Time for Tea Designs card earlier in the week.

I stamped their names in Versamark and embossed using Tim Holtz Antique Linen embossing powder. I die cut the black patterned paper with an oval spellbinders and layered it ontop of a stamped labels 14 spellbinder die. :)

I added a bunch of Wild Orchid Craft goodness and a bow I created using some ribbon from The Ribbon Girl.

Any questions, just ask?

Out, xo.

Gardening Mae

Some of you who follow me on FB will have already seen this card, but I thought I'd share it here on my blog too.

This card was part of an order for a lady who was saying goodbye to some of her work colleagues. She wanted something super personalised - so after finding out a bunch of what each of the ladies was about, I come up with this card for.. Judith.

I used the adorable Gardening Mae from Some Odd Girl and coloured her up with ProMarkers to match my papers from My Minds Eye. Judith liked earthy green colours, so that's the palette I tried my best to stick to.

I created the sentiment using an alpha set from Lawn Fawn, I spelled the name out using some Cosmo Cricket alpha stickers and the circle sentiment is from Lili of the Valley.

Some delicious trim and ribbon from the Ribbon Girl, and a mixture of flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and Petal Lu finish off the embellishments.

I'm trying to keep these blog posts relatively short and sweet this week so I can cram more in! :)

Thanks for stopping by. xo

Some Doodleicious Dooling!!

This looks like it's gonna be a post a day this week. Wowzers!!

We've gone all doodly over at Passion for ProMarkers this week with our theme being..

DOODLEICIOUS DOODLES. Say it, three times, fast! :P

I decided to use another cutie from Time for Tea Designs, she's called Easter Chick, and is available from Jo's Etsy Shop! :)

I added a bunch of doodles around most of my layers, which is pretty standard for me. I don't feel like a project is finished until I've added a touch of faux stitching! :)

Here is a close up on Easter Chick. I love how fancy her t-shirt is. :) I tried to add some more depth to her hair with black, but.. meh.. don't know if that went how I'd have liked it!

Any questions, please just ask.

Head over to the Passion for ProMarkers blog now and join in.

I'd like to enter this card into these challenges:
- Crafty Calendar - Blooms and Blossoms
- Sugar Creek - Spring Flowers

Thanks for stopping by! xo

Time for Tea Designs Debut

Morningggg!! I know it's Monday, and I know I'm chirpy.. but I have a very good reason to be. I'm off work for the next week. Yipppeee!! This could not have come sooner. I'm knackered!!

On wards and upwards..

By now everyone should own at least one or two of Jo's amazing characters from Time for Tea Designs. If not.. what are you waiting for?! Head over to her ETSY SHOP now and take a peek!!

Her latest release which came out at the beginning of May included a whole load of gorgeous characters..

As soon as I seen VERONICA, I knew I had to get her coloured up as a glamorous red head!! How freakin' sexy? Mhm!! Next time, she's gonna be a blonde. :)

I used some older papers from My Minds Eye, I LOVE the mustard colour. That damask paper is a keeper too, but you know me.. I gotta try and use up some stuffs!

I stamped a sentiment from Amy R in Brilliance Graphite Black ink down the right hand side and added a heap load of embellishents including die cut hearts, a little calendar from Whimsy Stamps, some WOC goodness, a fabric brad and a label shape from the paper pack which I've used as a base to layer some stuffs.

PLEASE head over to the Time for Tea Designs blog and check out the gorgeous designs! I have some absolute favourites, but I don't want to sway you guys! ;) You gotta make those decisions yourself.

Enjoy your Monday, whatever you're up to! xo

Shiney Sparkles at LLLC!

It's time for some more Friday inspiration over at La La Land Crafts today.

Our lovely Debbie has chosen

This post coincides with my big sisters birthday, and this card just happens to have been made for her. Am I kind? Mhm!!

I've used the adorable Travel Marci, as my sister is always off on holiday or wishing she was off on holiday!!  Her favourite colour, ever, is ORANGE - so that features big on my card. I've coloured Marci with the usual ProMarkers (colours are listed on the LLLC Blog) to match papers from PaperMania and ribbon from The Ribbon Girl.

For the sparkle and bling I added a heap of Stickles and Liquid pearls which I seem to be using a lot of on my projects lately. This time round I used Pumpkin Stickles and Canaloupe? LP!!

Thanks for stopping by. Out. xo

Ribbon Girl Guest Designer

Happy Sunday! :) I hope by the time this post goes live I will be lounging around in my pj's somewhere sipping some tea and enjoying a crunch or two on some toast or biscuits. I'm in desperate need of a lazy weekend. Only 5 more days at work and then I'm off for a week, so I best not complain.

So you might be wondering what you're stopping by my blog for on a Sunday of all days! Well let me tell ya.. I was approached by the ever so lovely Mary and Andrea from The Ribbon Girl about being a Guest Designer for them this week. How could I say no?! I love their little shop, and always end up spending waaay more than planned. I can never wait for my parcel to arrive all wrapped up like a Christmas present! :)

So this week they've a new challenge, which is

I decided to colour up Butterflies and Pigtails from Simply Sassy, which I believe you can still purchase at Funky Kits. I just fancied stamping an image when I sat down to create this card and my little Simply Sassys were getting heavily neglected.

I've used some papers from My Minds Eye and coloured my image with ProMarkers and FlexMarkers to match. :) The sentiment from Amy R has been stamped in Melon Mambo ink and die cut with an X-Cut die.

As for the embellishments, this is where all of the The Ribbon Girl goodness comes into it all.

So I know you're itching to get over to The Ribbon Girl Challenge Blog and join in with us all. I know you've got some buttons somewhere! ;) There are two amazing prizes up for grabs too..

I'd like to enter this card into these challenges:
- Sweet Stampin' - Create a Scene
- Jellypark Challenges - Girly
- Really Reasonable Ribbon - Sparkle, bling and ribbon

Thanks so much for stopping by. Enjoy the rest of your lazy Sunday! Lou Mac, out. xo
