SOG Dec Challenge

Howdy doody!! Nip and a punch for the first of the month. Gawwwd. Can you believe it's DECEMBER?! Somebody save me. 2012 has zoooomed it's way passed in the blink of an eye. I dunno what it is - after September is done with and the kids are back to school after the summer time just seems to speed up. I wish it was winter for longer! :( Anywho, I digress.

It's time for a new challenge over at Some Odd Girl today. We've another inspirational sketch for ya to use. Banners are still raging out there in the world of craft, so we've decided to incorporate them into our landscape style sketch this month.

I just had to use this opportunity to colour up Cuppa Mae again. Love this girl. I dunno what it is about her but she looks so peaceful and serene and is perfect for loads of occasions around these cold winter months. I decided to step out of my comfort zone a little and try and colour Mae with more pastel colours. I think I succeeded - kinda. :/ What do you think? I even changed her skin tone up a little.

She has been coloured using ProMarkers and FlexMarkers to match my papers from My Minds Eye Howdy Doody collection. Not neccessarily winter patterns/ papers - but I've seen a few videos on YouTube where crafters have challenged themselves to make Christmas cards with none-themed paper. I thought I'd give it a go. There are so many 'modern' Christmas colour combos bouncing about now, that you can get away with just about anything, and I think pink and white is about as crisp as it gets!

I've stamped an Amy R sentiment in Pretty in Pink ink from SU! (say that three times fast) and created my top most banner with it. I tied a little bow with some white grosgrain ribbon, added a mint button threaded with some pink natural twine, 'sprinkled' some gemstones and pearls from Kaisercraft here and there, and it was job DONE!

Off to make myself a hot cup of cocoa now! ;)

Be sure to stop by the Some Odd Girl blog and see the other jaw droppingly beautiful creations from the rest of my ODD teamies.

Over and out. xo
