Birthday Bunting

Good morning WEEKEND!! :) How has your week been? Mine has been as manic as ever, what with work, DT creations, card orders, Christmas shopping (online - admittedly) and Christmas wrapping. Gosh. When will it ever end? On the plus side.. I'm off ALL WEEKEND. So I plan on getting a bunch of images coloured up today, ready to be made into cards at the beginning of next week, and then tomorrow I'll be off out for my Sunday dinner. Yum. :)

So today I have a card to share with you that I posted over on the Sugar Nellies FB group earlier in the week. Uploading a photo with a short sentence is a lot quicker than typing up a blog post, right? You know me, I can't just write the bare minimum, I gotta waffle on.

Anywho, here's the card I made using one of my fave Sassy's of ALL TIME - Hippie Love. Her heart bunting is too cute, and I love her expression. The flowers in her hair are just so fun to colour up too!

I've teamed her up with some patterned papers from My Minds Eye - Rosy collection. The green stripes are originally horizontal but I cut the slice on a diagonal to create a little more interest. I love the reds and greens together, with the added splashes of yellow and blue, it's soo not Christmas-y. :)

I've a new found love for my WOC flowers again, after a while of not using them.. for some unknown reason.  I've added a mocha cherry blossom, some lime green 15mm roses, a 10mm two tone green rose and an ickle 8mm white rose. :) I always keep the green stems off a few of my flowers to curl them up, sorta like leaves.. but not. :) Recycling!

The gorgeous vintage looking gingham ribbon is from no other than The Ribbon Girl, of course! ;) I created the big bow using my Bow Easy tool. I also bought this ribbon in green too. It's just delicious. I gotta stop myself going on their website though, because I just go crazy! LOL.

I've coloured this cutie using Copics and ProMarkers. I've stencilled a sky background using Bashful Blue ink from SU! and added some grass to the bottom of the image using a Martha Stewart punch.

Skin - E000, E00, E01, E11; Cheeks - R20, R32; Eyes - Cocoa, Walnut
Hair - E50, E51, E53, E55
Shoes and Coat - Cocoa, Chestnut, Walnut
Jeans - Cornflower, China Blue, Midnight Blue
Tops - Ruby, Crimson, Burgundy, Mint Green, Emerald, Lush Green
Yellows - Y11, Y21
Outline - 0, W00, W1

Here is a shot of the inside of the card, I've decorated the inside with patterned papers from the same collection. I used a sentiment stamp from LOTV and cut it using a Labels Four nestie. I distressed and doodled all of my edges and added some corner details with the green stripey paper.

Hope you like as much as the recipient. It was her 55th birthday and I still managed to squeeze a Sassy on there. Stamps don't get much more versatile than that now, do they?! Keep your eyes peeled next week for another Sassy card from me. I've got the bug again! ;)
