Thanks, for being my friend

Evening everyone. Glad you could stop by. I have a card to show you today, that I made to enter into three challenges, I will list them later. I decided to give myself a day off today, as I managed to finish up assignment number 2 of 3 at about half past two this morning. I made this card along with a few others for my Christmas Crunch Sunday series.. they will be posted in due course. The second installment was posted today, you can find it here.

Here is the card I have to share today:

I used a stamp set from October Afternoon that I bought aaaages ago. I don't know why its taken me so long to use it, isn't he cute? He has a little doggy friend, and a kite and a cloud and loadsa other little bits along with him in the stamp set. See the supplies list for the name of it.

I stamped the boy, the dog and the kite and kite tales in Rich Cocoa Memento ink. I coloured his hair using SU! close to cocoa ink and a copic colourless blender pen. I love the texture is has given, it sorta looks like strands of hair as opposed to a big block of colour with shading. I highlighted his freckles with a pastel pink PM and grounded the boy and dog with some Moss PM to look like grass.

I thought I would paper piece the kite to make it look a little different. I like the results. There was no fussy cutting involved, just simple straight lines, hehe. I love this patterned paper for boy/man cards, as its not totally childlike, and I think oranges and blues always work well on male cards.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Bazzill - Cream textured
Patterned Paper: Cosmo Cricket - Lil' Man
Stamp: October Afternoon - Kite Tales, Hero Arts - Anytime Messages, Hero Arts - Friends
Ink: Memento - Rich Cocoa, SU! Close to Cocoa, Old Olive, Real Red, Bashful Blue
ProMarkers: Skin - Vanilla, Blush, Pastel Pink. Clothes - Mango, Peach, Cornflower, Denim Blue, Blender Pen. Shoes - Mango, Cool Grey 1. Grass - Moss
Tools: Making Memories - Slice (Fa La La) Fiskars - Apron Lace Border Punch, SU! Small Tag Punch, WRMK - Corner Chomper
Miscellaneous: Distress Stickles - Faded Jeans, Copic Colourless Blender, brown fineliner

I would like to enter this card into these challenges:
× Passion for ProMarkers - Week 81 - Thank you theme
× Kraftin' Kimmie - Challenge 60 - Time to unwind
× Sugar Creek Hollow - January Sketch Challenge

Thats all for today. Its back to the grind tomorrow - I'm going to attempt assignment 3 of 3. Wish me luck!!

  6. Wow this is fantastic Lou! I love the combo of DP here and the way you've sort of spotlighted the focal images on the die cut but with some of the design elements/stamps continuing underneath. I think that is so creative - it just makes your eye travel around the entire cardfront. This is such a fabulous take on the sketch and I'm so glad you entered the Sugar Creek Hollow challenge this week. We'd love to have you back at next week's challenge too!
    All the best,
