A Commissioned WEDDING CARD

If you know me, you know my cardmaking style isn't too frilly or fancy, so when I was asked by a friend to make a wedding card for the end of this month I told her not to expect big fancy frills and flowers. She said she trust me.. *phew*..

I made this a few nights ago when it was blowing a gale outside and the rain was thrasing against the windows, don't you just love that? It makes you feel so cosy when you're inside all wrapped up! So much for summer being on the way, but hey.. I ain't complaining.

I started out wanting to make a square card - purely because I think they look more elegant, but I have SUCH a hard job filling all of the space, that I thought I would stick with what I know best. I used a gorgeous digi from The Greeting Farm - I thought it was perfect. I coloured the little couple using PM's and fussy cut it out. I went along with the 'black, white and one other colour' colour combo, I find it very elegant and it allows for personalisation. The bride is going to have teal flowers and her bridesmaids will be dressed in teal, so the 'other colour' was eaaasy!

I matted some MME patterned paper (yeees, it is patterned, with a very slight pattern) onto black cardstock and stitched around the edges. I then punched a scalloped border from the same black cardstock and layered some teal ribbon on top. I created a bow using the same ribbon with my bow easy and attached to the left hand side.

I popped the image onto dimensionals and attached to the card front. I used my largest circle nestie as a template and adhered pearls in a circle around the main image. I then typed the details of the couple in Word and printed them out. I then cut their names using labels four nesties and attached underneath the bow. I then attached this all to a crisp white cardbase.

I decided to decorate the inside of the card inkeeping with the theme. I personalised another labels four nestie with the date of the wedding and layed it over some of the excess ribbon which I had cut into a banner. I used a die cut from the MME collection to create somewhere for my friend to write her message. I stamped 'Congratulations' using a Tempting Teal marker from SU! to finish it off.

To complete the order I created an envelobox using the board for Crafter's Companion UP and some Core'dinations cardstock, in the colour.. you guessed it.. TEAL! HA! I've nailed this one, no?

  12. Great job. Unfortunately, you didn't use a High Hopes stamp, so this doesn't qualify for the High Hopes Challenge. There is still time if you would like to re-enter using a High Hopes stamp. We hope you will play along again!

  15. Lovely card, I like the stitching and the half pearls and the image is so cute! I'm very sorry I have to remove this beauty but you misunderstood our challenge. We wanted to see an image on the inside of the card and a sentiment on the outside....

Hope to see you back someday.
