Told you I'd be back with some Some Odd Girl goodness for ya today. Well I'd like to introduce ya to..
FLOWER GIRL MAE
Of course, this cutie has been around for forEVER but I just noticed her beauty when fellow teamie, Tasha,
used her on a card a few weeks ago. Naturally I had to have her and had the perfect project in mind. :) Dont'cha love it when stuff works out like that?
This post is a little more photo heavy than my others have been lately - I found it hard to capture all of the little elements with just one shot. It looked a little bare to be honest. Here goes..
A pretty simple layout - as usual.. all eyes on the SOG! ;) I've used three papers and two die cuts from the MME Oh La La for Her collection. See - I'm slowly making my way through it all! :) I cut a doily in half and added it down the fold side of the card. Mandatory doodling around all edges but no distressing this time - I wanted a cleaner sort of look.
Those clouds have been cut using a new (to me) die from PTI. Aren't the gorgeous? My boyfriend says they look green, I told them they were meant to be blue. He said 'Regardless, Lou. Clouds are bloody white anyway' :( He sure knows how to rain on my parade. THEN my friend said.. 'But Lou, it's SUNNY in Turkey - not a cloud to be seen' Hell, there's no pleasing some people! LMAO!
The strip of paper along the sentiment panel has been backed with a die cut border strip from the same set. It took me ages to cut the little nubbys off from where it had been stuck in the sheet - but SO worth it. Isn't there a punch similar to this? If you know of it please let me know the name - I NEED it! :)
Isn't she beautiful? I've coloured her with the usual ProMarkers and Copics and fussy cut her out. I've added Sakura White Souffle pen to her eyes and the beads on her anklet - too cute!! Check out her pink toe nail too! ;) I've so gotta work on colouring folds and stuff and actually getting them to stand out. Hmmm.. Tips?
I created this card as part of a commission from a friend - it's her mam, not mine. This image totally reminds me of her and our holidays to Turkey - what with the bare feet and the flowing hair. It was PERFECT. I've always found it difficult to create what I like to call multi element sentiments - but I think I'm getting better. I used a die cut from the paper collection alongside a sentiment from PTI stamped in SU! Melon Mambo then some ickle Cosmo Cricket alpha stickers to create the 'Mam'. Job done! :)
I created a tag using my Jewellery Tag punch from SU! and stamped another sentiment from a PTI set again in SU! Melon Mambo. I tied it with pink bakers twine around my bow made from Pretty in Pink Taffeta Ribbon again from SU!
Some WOC! Goodness finishes off this section of the card. Adhered with Glossy Accents - because I've found that it is a LOT sturdier and dries a LOT faster than the Tombow Mono Multi I was using. Only drawback is my nozzle keeps getting blocked and the more I fiddle with it the wider the flow of GA is from it - MESSY!!
Here is a shot of the inside of the card using the same sentiment and ink colour. I also stamped a birthday sentiment from LOTV A5 sentiments set. I positioned it off of the main panel to give my friend room to write her own personal message inside too.
Can you please take a second to look at this bow of bakers twine. Hello?! A DOUBLE BOW!! Don't even ASK me how I managed that - because even if I knew I wouldn't tell ya. What do crafters call these? Happy mistakes. I must have been pulling on the 'wrong' bit and voila!!
Ha. I would like to enter this gorgeous (if I do say so myself - but Kristys images make EVERYTHING look gorgeous) card into these challenges:
