Be sure to stop by the Some Odd Girl Challenge blog to see what the other girls have done with this new release!!

Deer Gift Mae

Bright Lights Kaylee

I've used Basic Greys Eskimo Kisses on both cards along with the usual Copics and ProMarkers to colour my images. I've kept the layouts pretty simple, all eyes on the images! ;)

I've had real fun with this new release, the girls have just blown my mind with their mad colouring skillz and imagination!!

I offically <3 SOG. I have another project coming soon using an older digi, so keep your eyes peeled!! :)

Sweet Day

I thought it'd be appropriate to post this today, considering it's the recepients birthday!! ;)

By the time this post goes live I should be well on my way to Newcastle Central Station bound for Burton on Trent for my sisters jewellery/ card party tonight! ;) HELL YES..

Anyway, the whole point of this post..

You all know the deal with Saturated Canary and Kristas new Etsy Store and challenge blog right?! Right!! Well here is my first card using one of her new digis. Meet Penny, A Ragamuffin. Is she not the cutest thing you ever did see?! I think so!!

I've coloured her using Copics and ProMarkers. I decided not to fussy cut her out and instead stamped, doodled and distressed the edges of the image panel. My papers are from Sweet Threads 6x6 pad from Basic Grey and I have used some ribbon from The Ribbon Girl to mimic her leggings which I've coloured to look like jeggings. Get it?! ;)

Anywho, be sure to stop by the Saturated Canary Challenge Blog - the first challenge is up and live with some unREAL inspiration from the DT!

Tickled Pink Stamp Challenges #39 - Winter Theme

Sorry for the late post girls, but hopefully you've already seen my card over at the Tickled Pink Stamps Challenge Blog.

So without anymore waffle I'll get straight to it. This week we want to see..

WINTER

Up until a couplea days ago, it was beginning to look a bit chillier over here in Old England.. but we've had a few days of 20 odd degree weather - HATE it.

So.. here is a card for a cooler climate.

I have used the gorgeous Lil' Christmas Pinkette - Faith. She has been coloured with the usual Copics and ProMarkers. I've used a Hero Arts snowflake stamp to create a little interest of the image panel. A slice of paper and a die cut sticker from Echo Park Everybody Loves Christmas collection adds a little colour to the card, along with some Kraft details and some white embossing.

If you haven't done so already head on over to the challenge blog and see what the other girls have created using this weeks challenge theme - you won't be disappointed!!

Look on the Bright Side

Hey Quixotic-ers! LOL!! This is my first ever post for Quixotic, incase you didn't know, and I've been worrying about it for forEVA! Working along side such a talented bunch of ladies is nerve wracking - let me tell ya!!

Today I am showing you a new stamp from the Sylvia Zet for SCACD.

Meet Princess

I emailed Elaine before I typed this post and was like.. I'm SO embarrased by my colouring on this card. These stamps are totally not made for use with PM's - honestly. You gotta have mad skills and patience to colour these beauties. I'm defintely going to give it another go soon though! I must!! They're too cute not to!!

I've coloured her hair and skin using Copics and the rest of the image using ProMarkers. I've used some yummy papers from Prima's Madeline collection and added some blue seam binding with a double bow I have tied using my Bow Easy.

Well, let's just wrap this up by saying my projects in the future cannot be as horrid as this! LMBO!! They can only get better, right? :)

Be sure to stop by the challenge blog to see what the ladies have got for ya to feast your eyes on. I'm showcasing Alice Mae for ya all..

Can you please just take a second to stop and look at that adorable face?! Like butter wouldn't melt, and you know what? It probably wouldn't. Like wow. She's gorgeous. I love the big bow in her hair. I've coloured her skin and hair using Copics and the rest of the image in PM's. I've tried to colour her true to what Alice looked like in the movie - not so sure about the red 'undergarments' but I had to add a splash of colour somewhere! LOL. The 'real' Alice also had black shoes, but I've got a thing for colouring SOG images with brown shoes. Okay? Okay.

I SO need to work on colouring white! LMBO. Her freakin' tights and petticoat look dirty!! This wasn't the anticipated outcome - I promise. I've used Echo Park For The Record patterned paper along with a Fiskars Apron Lace border punch, an SU! Decorative Label punch and some red bakers twine from The Ribbon Girl. I stamped a sentiment from Star Prints stamp set by PTI in Frayed Burlap ink, which I have also used to distress the edges of my papers.

So tell me she isn't adorable?! Hell, you ain't seen NUTTIN' yet. Be sure to stop by the challenge blog each day this week to see what surprises wait in store!

Pollycraft Challenge #112

I had an AWESOME time at Go Karting last night. What a bloody laugh. 80 laps seemed to FLY over. Needless to say I didn't win - I was one of the heaviest there! :( My arms were aching from the moment I got out of the kart and I only dread my day at work. Filling shelves is gonna be a BIG task! LOL. Anywhoo..

This week our challenge theme over at Pollycraft has been picked by our lovely Arabella. We want to see those..

TAGS AND BOOKMARKS

You know the type. The cute little projects that are great for using all your scraps, plus they're fun and easy to make for that something a little different when you're not in the mood for a card. Hell, if you can make them small enough you might be able to find a way to incorporate them onto a card. Something I've seen a lot lately around blog land is tags on tags too. Hot.

The girls have blown my mind this week with their projects. I wanna have numerous books on the go just so I can eat up all of their amazing bookmarks. Plus the tags we've got for ya, you'll be asking for a present just to receive these cuties!

Some of you may know that I'm going to be attending my second craft fayre at the end of October - naturally it is Halloween themed so I've been trying to blast out the Halloween projects bit by bit. I'm trying to steers away from cards for this event as we don't really 'do' Halloween like the Americans, so I don't want to make a bunch of cards nobody wants. So instead I've been aiming more towards little gift tags, treat bags and boxes as well as little Halloween keepsakes.

Here is one of many little Halloween tags I plan on making with the Kraft Tags from Papermania I bought at Papercuts the other day. :)

I used the cute little Kraft Tag from PaperMania along with some of the yummy papers from MME Mischevious collection. I embossed the sentiment from Hero Arts in white and coloured the Lil' Swings and Slides dude using Copics and ProMarkers. The little Halloween Pumpkin dotted about is from Hero Arts too and has been stamped in Pumpkin Pie ink from SU! ;) Some spots of White Opal liquid pearls and doodling around the edges finishes this little tag off!

Hope you likey. I can just envision a bunch of these cuties all lined up on my desk! :)

I would like to enter this tag into these challenges:
× Corrosive Challenge - Punches and/ or Dies
× Paper Sundaes - Anything Goes
× Crazy 4 Challenges - Halloween Card or Decor Project
× Alphabet Challenge - Q for Quick and Simple

Be sure to stop by the Pollycraft Challenge Blog to check out what other awesome stuff the girls have come up with.

PSSSTT - did you know Paula is offering 50% off ALL digis until Oct 7th. See THIS post for all the details. Use the code: AUGUST50

Sentimental Sundays #74

These Sunday's come around DAMN QUICK, don't they?! Weekdays seen to drag and then come Friday, if you blink, you miss the WHOLE weekend. Good news though - today.. I'm off work. That can only mean one thing! :) SUNDAY DINNER :)

Anywho, enough of the waffle..

Today over at Sentimental Sundays we want to see you try something new..

STEP OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE

Hard, I know. Hell.. all of the girls had trouble with this one!! But the whole point of a CHALLENGE is to CHALLENGE you. So don't be shy! :)

I came up with a 'tri folded card' but not in the traditional sense. I don't even know if that's what you'd call it, but that's what I'm going with. I found inspiration HERE at Kristina Werner's Blog. This is the girl that got me into card making in the first place. LOVE her work.

Here is the photo that you will see for my project over at the SS Blog this week - it is the 'front of the card' with both folds closed. I have added two brads from Basic Grey and tied some Lime Green bakers twine from The Ribbon Girl around each of them to keep the card closed. I have distressed and doodled some edges and left others plain - just for a mix up. There are so many surfaces to cover on this card that you've got to keep it interesting.

Here is the second front of the card, with the top flap folded up. The sentiment 'Friends' from the front continues into this section of the card with a longer sentiment - both of these stamps are from Hero Arts - Friends stamp set and stamped in Melon Mambo ink from SU! I have used my Fiskars Scallop edge punch throughout the card to create something a little more interesting than straight edges.

Here is the 'inside' of the card - with a panel positioned so it cannot be seen until the card is fully opened. This is the perfect place to write a personal message. I have added some butterflies from a PTI set in Melon Mambo ink from SU! I have used a stamp off technique to achieve different gradients in the colour.

Here is a side shot of the card so you get an idea of the 'mechanics' behind it. It really was simple to make, but a little more time intensive when it came to measuring and adhereing the rest of the patterned papers. This would make a fab project to give to someone special for Valentines or Christmas - you could easily incorporate a few photographs and some special verses.

I would like to enter this card into these challenges:
× Fussy and Fancy - Try a New Technique
× Card Makin' Mamas - Punchy Inspiration
× Joyful Stamper - Anything Goes
× Our Craft Lounge - Patterned Paper

I'm off Go Karting tonight with a few friends. I cannot wait. Apparently I will be aching on Monday morning, but I care not. I have a Need for Speed! LOL. Tops is 40mph - but hell, I'm sure I could push a little more than that! :) Enjoy your Sunday whatever you're doing!

Floating Feathers

Not sure whether any of you remember the card I made for Sentimental Sundays a few weeks back for the "Sympathy" challenge. Well.. the lovely Amy Burrell seen the blog post on my news feed over at Facebook and requested a birthday card based on a similar design. She said "It may sound like a silly request because it's based on a sympathy card" - Hell, girl!! I can turn my hand to just about anything! :)
Of course, I only make OOAK cards - and Amy knows this, she just liked the colours and design. She wanted a 60th Birthday card for her MiL.. so here is what I come up with.

I used the two same yummy papers from Bo Bunny Gabrielle collection for the base of this card as I did for the sympathy card. I matted the two pieces onto some dark brown cardstock from Papercuts and wrapped some gorgeous silky crush ribbon from The Ribbon Girl around the join. I then adhered the whole lot to my Kraft cardbase which I switched around and had the fold at the top for a change! :) Looks more elegant me thinks.

I've used a combo of die cuts and alpha stickers to create the sentiment. Obviously with the card lacking an image the sentiment had to take centre stage. I cut the 60 using my slice, the 'th' is from Kaisercraft mini alpha set, the 'Happy Birthday' has been pieced together using some Jenni Bowlin alpha stickers and the 'Mam' are chipboard thickers. :) I created a circle using a nestie and some more gorgeous papers from the same collection and backed it using a lacey circle die cut from more of the dark brown cardstock. Yum! :)

Of course I had to get a feather in there somewhere - 60 is a special birthday, okay? - does it not match the papers fabulously?! I also placed a few Papermania pearl brads and Prima pearls! :) Looovely. Of COURSE all edges have been distressed and doodled.

I start work at 1 o'clock today. 4 hours on Till 1. I can't wait. Not. HAHA. At least it's four hours of sitting on my ass instead of running around after people. :) I would take my slippers - if I had any ;) Have a good day whatever you're doing! :)

Tickled Pink Stamp Challenges #38 - Pick Your Combo

Hey guys, this is my second post for the day. Thursdays are always busy on this lil' ole' blog o' mine! HAHA. If you're on the look out for some SOG goodness see HERE.

Time for another challenge over at TPS this week. Excited much? I am.. know why? Because I have some TIP TOP inspiration for ya! ;)

This week we've got a different challenge for ya. We want you to..

PICK A COMBO
Buttons and Twine OR Lace and Pattern Papers OR Chipboard and Distressing

I'll give you three guesses at which one I went with?! Well of course.. BUTTONS AND TWINE!!

I wanted to use the very unloved (by me *slaps own hands*) Lil' Little Kellita and so went off on a hunt for an inspiring card.. I only came across THE most PERFECT inspiration EVER in the form of one of Amy Young's cards.

Hello?! Not the freakin' SWEETEST thing EVER? Check out all the details for this beauty HERE.

So using this gorgeous image and that beautiful card for inspiration.. PLUS the challenge criteria this week I come up with this..

I have used papers from First Edition - Hideaway collection. This card has such a spring feel to it and the added touches of glitter on some of the papers are perfecto.

I fussy cut Kellita after colouring her with PMs and Copics and adhered her atop of a die cut circle which I stamped with a branch stamp and a sentiment stamp. Just like Amy! :)

I have added an apron lace scalloped strip near the bottom and wrapped some lime green bakers twine from The Ribbon Girl around it. I then found some green buttons to "match" the colours and tied more twine through them - completing my combo.

Here is a close up of the centrepiece of the card. I used a little strip of green paper from the same collection to create a 'hill' for Kellita to sit on. I then sponged a sky background before stamping and colouring my branch.

I have doodled and distressed all edges, as usual. This really helps to tie together a card like this when the patterned papers are so different and so heavy, pattern wise. Says me! HA!

Here is a shot of the inside of the card - made the resemble the front with the circular piece and the stamped branch. I also added some butterflies using my MS punch.
I would like to enter this card into these challenges:
× Belli Challenge - String
× Digi Stamp 4 Joy - Anything Goes

Head on over to the Challenge Blog now to see what the other ladies have got for ya using the combo they chose!

Some Odd Girl Challenge - ::*Picture Inspiration*::

Guess what? :) Time for a new challenge over at Some Odd Girl this week! Can I hear a YAAAY?! Congrats to the winner and faves of our Stitching challenge. To check out whether you got picked see THIS post. Did you all have fun on our Holidau Hop showcasing the whole new CLEAR RELEASE? Check out HOP WINNERS HERE to see if you were lucky enough to get some freebies!!

Now.. onto the challenge for the next fortnight.. We've got a little colour/ picture inspiration for ya in the form of this yummy picture..

Here is what I came up with.

I dunno - I've hummed and haa'd about this card since I got to making it. I was really looking forward to using the picture and colours as inspiration - but when push come to shove I just couldn't make it work. Anywho, I've used papers from MME Everybody Loves Christmas collection. Pretty neat deal there huh? Admittedly there is some extra red and stuff thrown in there - but it is a holiday card after all.

I (of course) HAD to use Deer Mae from the latest CLEAR RELEASE which can be found HERE over at the Some Odd Girl Store. I've coloured her using the usual Copics and ProMarkers and fussy cut her out.

The layout of this card is REALLY simple for me - the only embellishment being the hand stitching. But I thought the papers were busy enough without adding more bumph on top!! Hope you like more than me! LOL.

I would like to enter this card into these challenges:
× Anything Goes Challenge Blog - Anything Goes
× FBC - Keep It Simple
I understand that this is not the 'traditional' simple - but hell.. it's simple for me. I think the patterned papers just make it look busy *sweet face*
× The Paper Shelter - Anything Goes
× 7 Kids College Fund - Holiday Goodness
× Simon Says - Dies to Die for
I've used a SU! Scalloped Circle punch to create my sentiment element

P.S If you haven't done so already.. head on over to our SOG Flickr Group and check out what fun stuff is happening!! The first of our Christmas challenges is up and rolling, ready for you to join in!

Flower Girl

Told you I'd be back with some Some Odd Girl goodness for ya today. Well I'd like to introduce ya to..

FLOWER GIRL MAE

Of course, this cutie has been around for forEVER but I just noticed her beauty when fellow teamie, Tasha, used her on a card a few weeks ago. Naturally I had to have her and had the perfect project in mind. :) Dont'cha love it when stuff works out like that?

This post is a little more photo heavy than my others have been lately - I found it hard to capture all of the little elements with just one shot. It looked a little bare to be honest. Here goes..

A pretty simple layout - as usual.. all eyes on the SOG! ;) I've used three papers and two die cuts from the MME Oh La La for Her collection. See - I'm slowly making my way through it all! :) I cut a doily in half and added it down the fold side of the card. Mandatory doodling around all edges but no distressing this time - I wanted a cleaner sort of look.

Those clouds have been cut using a new (to me) die from PTI. Aren't the gorgeous? My boyfriend says they look green, I told them they were meant to be blue. He said 'Regardless, Lou. Clouds are bloody white anyway' :( He sure knows how to rain on my parade. THEN my friend said.. 'But Lou, it's SUNNY in Turkey - not a cloud to be seen' Hell, there's no pleasing some people! LMAO!

The strip of paper along the sentiment panel has been backed with a die cut border strip from the same set. It took me ages to cut the little nubbys off from where it had been stuck in the sheet - but SO worth it. Isn't there a punch similar to this? If you know of it please let me know the name - I NEED it! :)

Isn't she beautiful? I've coloured her with the usual ProMarkers and Copics and fussy cut her out. I've added Sakura White Souffle pen to her eyes and the beads on her anklet - too cute!! Check out her pink toe nail too! ;) I've so gotta work on colouring folds and stuff and actually getting them to stand out. Hmmm.. Tips?

I created this card as part of a commission from a friend - it's her mam, not mine. This image totally reminds me of her and our holidays to Turkey - what with the bare feet and the flowing hair. It was PERFECT. I've always found it difficult to create what I like to call multi element sentiments - but I think I'm getting better. I used a die cut from the paper collection alongside a sentiment from PTI stamped in SU! Melon Mambo then some ickle Cosmo Cricket alpha stickers to create the 'Mam'. Job done! :)

I created a tag using my Jewellery Tag punch from SU! and stamped another sentiment from a PTI set again in SU! Melon Mambo. I tied it with pink bakers twine around my bow made from Pretty in Pink Taffeta Ribbon again from SU!

Some WOC! Goodness finishes off this section of the card. Adhered with Glossy Accents - because I've found that it is a LOT sturdier and dries a LOT faster than the Tombow Mono Multi I was using. Only drawback is my nozzle keeps getting blocked and the more I fiddle with it the wider the flow of GA is from it - MESSY!!

Here is a shot of the inside of the card using the same sentiment and ink colour. I also stamped a birthday sentiment from LOTV A5 sentiments set. I positioned it off of the main panel to give my friend room to write her own personal message inside too.

Can you please take a second to look at this bow of bakers twine. Hello?! A DOUBLE BOW!! Don't even ASK me how I managed that - because even if I knew I wouldn't tell ya. What do crafters call these? Happy mistakes. I must have been pulling on the 'wrong' bit and voila!!

Ha. I would like to enter this gorgeous (if I do say so myself - but Kristys images make EVERYTHING look gorgeous) card into these challenges:
× Make it Monday - Anything Goes
× Aly's Sunday Challenge - Add a Bow
× Stamp with Fun - Anything Goes
(I will find some when I get in from work. Promise)

Pollycraft Challenge #111

Hey Pollycrafters!! It's Monday again. Where DO those weekends disappear to?! Sorry this card is going up so late. I had it all planned that once I finished work last night I would colour an image to match the papers I had in mind and photograph the card all before 8PM. Things never work out the way you want them to though, do they? I sat down to colour the cute

Luna Bitterfrost - Robots Rock..

but of course when I had printed her out I had placed her next to some other Lunas that I hadn't had a chance to colour up yet, including Skulls Rock and Stars Rock.. all of which can be found over at the Pollycraft Shop.

So. Needless to say I got a little carried away and coloured more than one image, which ate into the time I had left to make a card. So there you have it guys. I'm just a crazy fool with a lot a LOT of love for Paulas images. I just couldn't stop at one last night! LOL.

So.. Onto this weeks challenge which has been chosen by our gorgeous Anita.

SWIRLS AND PEARLS

Check out the challenge post over on the blog - there is some AWESOME inspiration as always!! I couldn't have thought of all those ways to incorporate those two elements into a card myself. Good job we've such a brilliant and innovative team for ya!

Here is my take on the challenge..

I have used the oh so gorgeous papers from MME Oh La La for Her collection. Can't get enough of them lately. I don't know if MME still make them anymore.. but like I always say.. I like new stash better than horded stash - so I best get it used up!!

I have coloured Luna using ProMarkers and Copics and fussy cut her out. The layout of the card is relatively simple. I have used a Sizzix die to create the 'swirls' which I have cut from patterned paper from the same collection. My 'pearls' are white opal liquid pearls which I have added to the labels fourteen die cut behind Luna. The ticket sentiments were created using a die and stamp set from Whimsy Stamps and the mandatory doodles were added to the edges. No distressing this time as I wanted to keep the card 'clean'.

I would like to enter this card into these challenges:
× Corrosive Challenge - Punches and/ or Dies
× The Squirrel and the Fox - Anything Goes

I hope you can join us this week and show us what you've got. Be sure to stop by the challenge blog to add your creations and become inspired no end by our team!!

I'm off to work at 2PM - so I've gotta find a bite to eat before then. So much for having a lie in this morning! :( I think my body has lost the knack to achieve such a thing. I'll be back tomorrow with some SOG goodness using the same paper collection, because like I told you guys, I can't get enough.

Enjoy your day whatever you're doing.

Sentimental Sundays #73

Hey Sentimental Fools. Another Sunday, another Challenge!!

[Warning: SOG heavy post. I know you love it! ;)]

Over at Sentimental Sundays today we want to see your..

MONOCHROME

creations.

I was TOTALLY inspired by THIS card from Coops earlier in the week and just HAD to HAD to do something similar. The whole sepia look is just too delicious to pass up.

Here is what I came up with.

Really simple layout, no doodling, no distressing. Was I ill, I hear you ask. No, no I wasn't. I just wanted all eyes on sepia Mae! ;)

I have paper pieced her bow using some paper from My Minds Eye - Lime Twist: Life of the Party collection pack and used the same paper to create a scalloped strip near the bottom to draw attention to the sentiment from PTI which has been stamped in Rich Cocoa ink.

I have used Walnut, Cocoa and Cinnamon PM's to colour the darkest areas, and Tan and Almond for her skin. Obviously using limited colours you can't create as much depth. Maybe this is something I gotta try out using my Copics as I have a few more E's.

I would like to enter this card into these challenges:
× Createalicious Challenges - Anything Goes
× Dutch Dare - Monochromatic

Be sure to stop by the Sentimental Sundays Blog and get some more monochromatic inspiration for the other lovely ladies! Oh, and speaking of monochromatic..

Want some EXTRA inspiration?! Did you people see Leah's card for the SOG Blog Hop. Talk about monochromatic!! WOWZERS.

I've asked her permission to show it again today over here.. and she was only too happy to oblige!! :D So here you have it..

Check out her other ODD creations at her BLOG. AWESOME work!!
