Beary Big Hugs

This is quite a long post so I hope you have your morning coffee. I fancied a chat!
I've scheduled this post to go live around about the time I am arising from slumber! HA. (Hopefully Blogger will cooperate and post it when I actually want it to be posted..) approx 6am. I know, I'm crazy, but the earlier I get up the sooner I can get the house tidy for my mam coming back from her two week holiday tomorrow.

Okay, so I've kept on top of most of the chores, like all of the washing and cleaning, but I gotta make sure the place is spotless other wise things will kick off! LOL. The bin men forgot to come down the back street and empty the green bin on Thursday - so she will NOT be best pleased about that. Another fortnight to go before that is due to be emptied.

But I'm waffling, like usual. Let's get the the bones of this post. Some of you may have noticed I've been a bit quiet of late, both with posting in general and for DT stuff. But trust me, I've been BUSY working on behind the scenes stuff as well as working on a truck load of orders from both friends and family for birthday, thank you, wedding and anniversary cards. I'll get around to showing you them in due course.

For now, here's a card I made for a family member (1 of 5 she asked me to make) for a little girls birthday. Pink, girly, with the name and age was what I had to go on. She is due to come pick them up today along with a 100th birthday card too. :)

All little girls like cuddly bears and teddys right? Well I've had this Belles 'n Whistles sitting in my stamp box for forEVA going totally unloved, and for why?! She's gorgeous!! You can buy her HERE from Quixotic.

I've coloured her using Copics and ProMarkers, she is just adorable. The teddy she is holding brings back loads of childhood memories for me. I used to have a MASSIVE and I mean BIG Polar Bear teddy I won at a theme park. It was like three times the size of me and used to live and the bottom of my bed. I used to sit in between his legs with my head under his chin and read my books. I used to love him. That is the only teddy I had that really stuck in my mind. I wasn't really a cuddly toy sort of kid. Infact, I don't even think he had a name. Poor bear.

I have gone around the outside of the image using some Dovecraft Chalks in Pink to make it stand out from the white card a little more. I've cut around the image and distressed and doodled the edges of the cardstock. The papers are from Prima Madeline collection. The patterns and colours lend themselves well to more sophisticated cards, but I loved the pinks and blues together and the detail in the corner of the bottom most paper.

Here is a shot of the inside of the card. I used some scraps of the paper from the sheets I used on the front alongside another slice of white paper where I have repeated the sentiment from the front from PTI in Melon Mambo ink from SU!

I created the girls name using some tiny alpha stickers from Cosmo Cricket - I had a load of these from different companies, I need to start using them more - they're fab for that extra added touch with a more 'personal' sentiment.

I would like to enter this card into these challenges:
× Aud Sentiments - Card/Sentiment for a Girl
× Crafty Purple Frogs - Birthday Cards
× Kelley Kids - Girly Girl
× My Mum's Craft Shop - Layer it Up

Okay, so I think I've chatted enough for so early on in the morning!! I may be back later with another card, I may not! :)

I just wanna leave you with this little picture of Agnes from Despicable Me. She is the cutest kid EVER! I wish real kids were like her, then there would be no doubt in my mind about having one.
