Pear Tree Designs - Challenge #40 - St. Patricks Day

Good morning! :) I have a card to share with you for Challenge #40 over at Pear Tree Designs. Thank you to everyone who joined in with our 'Sketch with a Twist' challenge last week - we had some really fun entries. I don't know about you but I love working with a sketch! Sometimes it takes all the hassel out of making a card, and you can concentrate on shapes and colours that work well together!

Anywho, the theme this week is ST. PATRICK'S DAY! Here is my take on the theme..

An unusual shape/length card for me, I do say. I fancied a change, and I found a sketch aaaages ago that I really wanted to use, and it required a longer card. It measures 9"x3 1/2" if I remember correctly. The 'Good Luck' sentiment is from a digi set by Whimsy Stamps called 'Luck Sentiments'. I have used some free patterned papers - relating to St. Patricks day, obviously - but like always, I forgot to save the link so I'm afraid I can't share it with you!

I used me Labels Two nesties to cut the sentiment out and I went around the edges with some SU! Old Olive ink, yummy colour! :) I used some Iced Lime seam binding and some green bakers twine, both from The Ribbon Girl, to embellish my sentiment.

I used my friend Janome Sew Mini sewing machine to stitch around the edges of my paper. I think the tension needs adjusting a little. Minor details which can really make or break a card.

Over all I think I like it - understated, yet it gets the message across! :)

I would like to enter this card into these challenges:
× Allsorts Challenge Blog - Week 94 - Luck 'O The Irish
× Delicious Doodles Challenge - Challenge #16 - Use Green for St. Patrick's Day

× Little Red Wagon - St. Patty's Day Green
× Stampin with the Dragon - St. Patrick's Day

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you find time to make a card following the theme for this week! :) Enjoy the rest of your day. xo
