Christmas Crunch Sunday - on Saturday

Let me start with an apology. An apology to those people (if there were any..) who came over to my blog last Sunday expecting to see a Christmas card. There wasn't one *sad face*. Sooo many uni deadlines and stuff going on at home that I didn't even have time to turn around and it was the weekend again.

BUT THIS WEEK!! I have a LOVELY card using Beanie Anya from The Greeting Farm. I've had the stamp for aaaages, but I'm ashamed to say this is the first time I have inked her up!! Shocking! I also tried my hand at paper piecing again, I really don't know why I don't do this more, its a fantastic technique! :)

Isn't she the sweetest? I love her bunches! I wish my hair looked like that when I had a hat on my head! LOL. I have paper pieced everything but her skin and hair. Such a cool look and it only takes a few minutes to cut all the pieces out - especially with these TGF stamps, as they're only 'ickle.

Here is a picture of the over all card, it took me over an hour to make it as I just couldn't decide what to do. But I LOVE how it turned out.. what do you think?

Over on the TPS group on Facebook, there has been a lot of talk about which colour we find it most difficult to work with - I answered purple. I find it really difficult to colour with ProMarkers in purple shades - and I never really know what other colours to team it with. Well, I was looking through my Christmas patterned paper when I came across Cosmo Cricket - Mitten Weather collection. Low and behold, a load of purple goodness that I had forgotten aaall about. So here it is, a purple card! :)

I used some gorgeous seam binding from The Ribbon Girl to make a cute little bow using my new bow easy tool. The two tickets were cut using the Ticket Die from Whimsy Stamps. I embossed a vellum ticket with a snowflake EF from Sizzix for Basic Grey. The other I stamped with a greeting from the Holiday Ticket Sentiments from Whimsy Stamps in SU! Pale Plum. I added some Lavender Stickles to each bauble as well as the knot on the bow.

Here is a close up of some gorgeous vellum snowflakes I cute using my MM-Slice. I stamped over them in SU! Soft Suede using the Music Notes standard wheel. I used my Bazzill Swirls template to add some Lavender Stickles.. in swirls (obviously..) although I don't know how well that turned out!! Not too swirly is it? LOL!

And lastly, something a little new for me. I have began decorating the inside of my cards. Its a fab way to use up scraps of the patterned paper you have cut when decorating the front of the card. :) I kinda like it. And I think it makes the card appear more finished!

Hope you like it, this is one of my fave Christmas cards so far this year! I can see Beanie Anya being used a LOT more, especially for paper piecing, her hat is perfect for it!!

I would like to enter this card into these challenges:
× Christmas Stampin' All Year Long - I Can See Right Through That
× Mojo Monday - #182

Well, I must dash. Going to make myself an omelette for tea and then get on with some uni work, which I have been telling myself I will do all day. Instead? I have been practicing colouring with my PM's!! :) I think I have nailed the colours I like for white skin colours and light browish hair. Result! Practice makes perfect, right? :) xo

  5. Is really amazing how relationships are dwindling in recent years. The increase of infidelity and divorce is really alarming. Appear in the early stages of relations like romantic, but what happens after this short time, the romantic view. Thanks for playing our CSAYL challenge!
