Day 3 of work tomorrow. A four hour shift on the tills I think. I hope it's cooler than it was on Monday. I was HOT - I was filling shelves and moving heavy boxes and was quite literally dead by the end of the four hours. I'm sure it'll just be until I get into a routine. Let's hope so anyway. I managed to get my hands on two 'Home Bargains' polo shirts so I won't stick out like a sore thumb anymore - it seems like I won't be the new girl for much longer either. Yippee!! Anywho..
It's time for another PaperPlay challenge today, and we have a theme which is becoming increasingly popular in blogland.. and that's Christmas.
CHRISTMAS IN AUGUST
It's time for another PaperPlay challenge today, and we have a theme which is becoming increasingly popular in blogland.. and that's Christmas.
CHRISTMAS IN AUGUST
Easy peasy. Perhaps you have some patterned paper collections left over from last year that you want to use up. What a perfect excuse!!
Here is what I came up with using paper from Echo Park - Everybody Loves Christmas collection which I used very sparingly last year but now I'm forcing myself to use it because I love new stash more than hoarded stash. I just wish it hadn't taken me two years of my crafting life to realise that! HA.
I have used some scrummy blue cardstock from Papercuts and distressed and doodled all edges. The sentiment is actually a portion for the back of one of the patterned papers. Perfect for this image - is it not! ;) I added some ickle felt snowflakes which I bought from WHSmith last Christmas, another hoarded item. They feel lovely, but are a bugger to peel off the backing paper without ripping them.
I made this card before I bought my Sakura Souffle pen, hence why the white dots on her eyes look a little faded! I have coloured her hair and skin using Copics and the rest using PMs. It has only taken me like.. a year.. to start getting comfortable with certain combos of PM's. I need to start writing them down too before I forget so I can have them to hand when I come to colour.
I like the whole of the image - except her jeans. I need a LOT more practice with those!! I've got me a colour combo for jeans but boy - I just messed this one up - big style! I have fussy cut Mae out and placed her on the card using dimensionals.
I would like to enter this card into these challenges:
