Pollycraft Challenge #106 - *//Distressing\\*

This week the challenge theme over at Pollycraft Monday has been chosen by our gorgeous Maria..

We want to see..

DISTRESSING

Easy if you know how! ;) Maria is an EXPERT in the field of distressing. Just gotta take a looksie at her blog to know that!! You could use ink or paint, a paper distresser or the edge of some scissors. Hey, perhaps you even have your own distressing technique, like scrumpling the paper up.. we can't wait to see what you come up with! ;) Head on over to the Pollycraft Monday Challenge Blog to see what awesome inspiration the ladies have got for ya this week!

Here is my take on the challenge. I'll apologise now, the pictures don't really do all of my distressing justice. Typical.

Instead of the usual kraft cardbase I've reversed it and gone for some pink cardstock from Papercuts and added Kraft matting. I've used some delicious papers from MME Oh La La for Her collection. Pretty old, I know. But I hoard.. and I've gotta start USING!

As for the whole distressing thing.. I've distressed the edges of my cardbase and patterned paper using Frayed Burlap DI and added some brown doodles. I have added cream acryic paint, DI and doodles to the edges of my kraft cardstock as well as running a paper distresser along the edges to rough it up a little.

Here is a close up of Sonny Honeycloud - don't you just love her sweet little face? And she always has the best outfits! Check out those boots - I WANT SOME!! I have fussy cut her out and adhered her with dimensionals to a die cut oval which I have stamped with the words "Thank you" although I've pretty much covered them all up. Silly.

As for embellishments - my fave bit! Okay, okay.. my second fave bit after the image. ;) I've die cut some mini postage stamps and stamped two sentiments "You're the best!" and "You make me happy". Too cute. I added some WOC goodness as well as some ruffle edge ribbon from The Ribbon Girl. To finish it all off I added some white liquid pearls, coz you know I gotta! :)

Here is quick shot of the inside of my card. I repeated the sentiment down the bottom, so you can see it a little better. I added another strip of patterned paper and a bit of kraft cardstock which I have distressed using the cream acrylic paint.

I would like to enter this card into these challenges:
