This is a blog I use to share my papercraft projects. I make them for friends and family, as well as selling them to fund my craft stash. You can get in touch with me at loumac03@gmail.com if you have any questions or would like to place a commissioned order.

Cramlington Craft Fayre

So yesterday was my first ever experience as a 'trader' at a craft fayre. Goodness me. It was BRILLIANT!! A HUGE thank you to Amy Burrell for organising the whole thing - the whole day was flawless!!

So, a lot of my blog readers have asked me to give an update about how the day went and stuff.. so first up I'll share a little picture of my stall with you all.

You see two seats as my lovely boyfriend offered to come along and give me a hand. He's got all of the sales patter so he was handy to have! He also isn't shy to pipe up if he sees an opportunity. In fact it was because of him that I got my first commission! :D

My bookmarks were a sell out. In fact I wish I had taken the time out to take more to take as people really loved them. I have a commission to make a pink themed one for a ladies grand daughter.

Loads of people took my business card - so I'm pleased I'll be getting my name out there!! A huge thank you to Jo and Shirley at Papercuts in Whitley Bay for making that happen!!

I had already voiced my concerns to loads of my friends and family about how the public would take me - I know how cruel they can be! But seriously.. they were LOVELY!! There were a few people who walked past and looked at my table as if to say 'what the hell?!' but the majority of the general public came up and had a look - some even asked questions regarding how long I had been making cards and other bits and bobs, how I coloured my images, and whether I had been doing it long. More of the 'crafty' people said that I was majorly undercharging!! That made me laugh - I didn't really know what to expect and I didn't want people to be put off with high prices - but I'll keep their comments in mind for next time!!

I met a lot of lovely ladies who all praised my work. I love the craft world - seriously. A bunch of lovely ladies.. and gentlemen. :)

I think the things I took away from this day are:
1. Non-crafty people are more into the 'other papercraft' items, such as bookmarks and tags.
2. I gotta start making more mini accordion albums with themes - such as babies and birthdays.
3. The crafting community are genuinely lovely people.
4. I definitely need to do more craft fayres as a trader. Roll on the Christmas Fayre on the 10th Dec!!
5. I need to have more self restraint when it comes to hand made goodies. i.e - don't spend all of my earnings at other peoples stalls! LOL!
