Sentimental Sundays #64 - Masculine Projects

Hey there, sorry this post is going up so late today.. I've had a REALLY busy week. I had my graduation on Friday morning and I literally spent ALL week getting prepared. I left it until Wednesday to organise an outfit, HA! What a stress. On top of that I've been trying to get some more stuff made for the craft fayre I have next month - I have no idea how much stock to actually take.. so I'm just blasting it out! :)

I would share some pictures of graduation with you all, but my Mam and boyfriend are offically the worlds worst photographers, aside from the two incredibly blurry pictures of the stage I have some hideous professional photos which can take up to a month to arrive. To be honest.. I hope they get lost in the post! LOL. Anywho..

Time for a new challenge this week over at Sentimental Sundays.. We want to see..

MASCULINE PROJECTS

I know you ladies sometimes it difficult to product male/boy themed cards and projects, but it really isn't all that tough - you just have to think outside the box a little. Hey, I even added WOC flowers to my project today.. and they don't look at that out of place.. honest!! :)

This week we are sponsored by Dude Time Doodles. Pop on over to the Sentimental Sundays Blog to check out what the lucky winner will recieve and don't forget to grab your free sentiments.

For my project I decided to use a cute little image from Some Odd Girl alongside a Raindrop Echo Designs Sentiment from the 'Fast Lane' set.

I have used papers from Cosmo Cricket - Social Club 6x6 paper pad and matted it onto cardstock from Papercuts. I have added Jenni Bowlin Malted Milk acrylic paint to the cardstock and Frayed Burlap DI and brown fineliner doodles to the patterned paper.

My image has been coloured using Copics and ProMarkers and cut using the largest labels 14 nestie. I have added a sky background using a scalloped template and some Bashful Blue ink from SU! I have doodled around the outside using a brown fineliner. Is the frog in his pocket not the cutest thing you've ever seen?!

Here is a close up of the sentiment. I think it suits the image perfectly. The mess some kids get in jumping in muddy puddles is hilarious! I cut it using the ticket die from Whimsy Sentiments and stamped the blank ticked on top using Bashful Blue ink again.

I know.. I know what you're thinking.. but this is a boy card.. and those are WOC flowers. Well.. I think it kinda works.. please tell me it works.. it ain't like they're bright pink or something! LOL.

I hope this has inspired you to create something masculine so you can join us this week. I hope to see you over at Sentimental Sundays - don't forget to stop by the blog to see what the other awesome ladies have got for ya too!!

  5. Congratulations on your graduation. I'm GOING to get the hang of these digital stamps so I can acquire some SOG, the pennies are not stretching to the rubber variety. Your ProMarker/Copics listing is helpful too & I love th hair colouring. The flowers certainly work in my book.
